I am currently being threatened by my former employer (they are "compelled [to] take action against [me]") for the way I am running ANN, and how this allegedly violates my employment contract with them ("interfere _in any manner_ with any business relationship between the Company and any of its customers or business partners"). This might entail drastic changes to the relative freedom of speech ANN has always allowed its visitors, or ANN might close down altogether. Updated 10:00 CET.

I don't know if you're aware of it but I have a friend who tried. Amiga Inc were not willing to license any boards. They were quite literally full of crap when they said they'd entertain alternate boards other than the Eyetech AmigaOne. I forget if i referred him to Fleecy or Peake, but I did get to see the emails once.
It was a shame too, because he had paired up with someone else who had a need for PPC boards, and together, when they combined the quantities, they made a deal to get Terons at about $415, so he decided he'd get those licensed instead of the Pegasos like he originally thought about.
His friend was already committed to the boards, so had to eventually order without him, but without the quantity price he paid $500 per. |
