AmigaworldNET The Amiga IRC Network was officially launched Today by Amigaworld.net in association with Happybiscuit.com, GuruMeditation.se and Polarboing.com and is built around the Amiga community to help facilitate the communications of Amiga users and online organisations.

AmigaworldNET offers users the following services..

* NickServ, a powerful nickname manager that users can use to protect themselves against nick stealing

* ChanServ, A powerful channel manager that helps users to administer their channels in a totally customisable way

* MemoServ, allows sending short messages to offline users, that they can then read when they come online later.

* BotServ, allows users to get a permanent, friendly bot on their channels in an easy way. Each bot can be configured to monitor the channels against floods, repetitions, caps writing, swear, and take appropriate actions. It also can handle user-friendly commands

* HostServ, allows users to show custom vHosts (virtual hosts) instead of their real IP address. New users will automatically receive an [Username].Amigaworld.Net vhost upon registeration (can be turned off)

In reply to Comment 11 (3seas):
Then let's do something for re-group the community again, I will welcome any initiative trying that. If a Peg/MOS user or a A1/AOS user -as myself- has decided go that way, hey, it's his/her business! But once he/she has taken this decision, it will be very difficult to change it, not only because his/her own convictions, but for the money spent! Not everybody has the money to buy two computers -please, no "A1 is expensive" trolling...-, me for one.

You can take into account companies, their backgrounds, their behaviour, etc., BEFORE you buy your computer, but once you have taken your decision, leave apart companies, there are only users left, if you get what I mean. Even if any of the companies dissappear it would hardly do any good to the community, for the USERS, since hardly any will buy another computer when he/she has just bought one.

That said, our systems are more similar than dissimilar, we share more than we don't. If you ask me about Ambient, perhaps I will not able to give you an answer since I don't know about it, but I'm sure that I could help you in many other things as well as you could help me in many other.

I REALLY find this Peg/MOS vs. A1/AOS very childish: "my toy fire-engine is bigger and nicer than yours!! :-Þ" = a child trying to convince HIMSELF that has taken the correct desicion when asked his father for that specific toy, after he has seen that the toy fire-engine of his friend is big and nice too...

Saluditos,

Ferrán.
