Thanks to the generous support of Genesi, and the hard work of Martin Blom, I am happy to announce that an updated Remote Desktop client for MorphOS has been released.

Remote desktop (or rdp protocol) allows a client computer to connect to a Windows 2000 server, Windows 2003 server, or Windows XP Pro computer giving the user complete control over the remote system. It is similar in concept to VNC.

Some of the features of the updated MorphOS client are:

-Full screen or Window mode
-accelerated CyberGraphX support on 8, 16, or 24 bit screens
Sound re-direction from the host to the client using the AHI unit of your choice
-Iconify support
-settings for low, medium or high bandwidth
-MorphOS PPC native binary
-PNG Icons

Connectivity with other operating systems is an important feature and will give credibility to MorphOS. Every major operating system has a Remote Desktop client that works with Windows XP, and now MorphOS does, too.

Additional thanks go out to André 'Jobbo' Siegel for the gorgeous PNG icons and Sigbjørn Skjæret for additional beta testing and advice.

Remote Desktop is available for download in the Downloads section on MorphZone.

Requirements:

-Access to a Windows 2000 server, Windows 2003 server, or Windows 2000 Pro computer with Terminal Services installed, or access to a Windows XP PRO computer with Remote Desktop enabled
-MorphOS 1.4.x
-Internet Connection or LAN connection
