Aros-Exec Reports that Michael Schulz have just commited his recent changes to ata.device. As promised, this update includes basic UDMA support together with some fixes (LBA48 harddrives work now as expected, and the drive capacities up to 2^57 bytes are supported).

The amithlon emulates BigEndian CPU, whereas AROS does work always in the endian mode of host CPU. So in case of x86 it is always Little Endian. Integrating transparent BigEndian m68k emulator is hardly possible in such situation.
Forcing Aros to work always in BigEndian would cost too much system power to be considered.
But better integration of UAE into AROS (mouseclick old program, UAE starts transparently) is planned, but unfortunatelly it's unknown how will it evolve. |
