This "abandonware" Thing is plain stupid. Question, if this is all Abandonware and no Problem, why do you think caps isn`t just releasing the archive? Right, they where down before they can say piracy. And you (if you are the one requeting) are doing more harm to caps then you can imagine.
It might be true that many titles are out of copyright, but there are still many which are not! Take Lucas Arts games for example. They are still releasing their classics from time to time. And there are titles which are still sold, e.g. titles from apc-tcp.
