Amigaworld.net is currently down due to hard drive failure.
Everything possible is being done to return the site to normal, however we are unable to give an ETA at this time.
In the meantime, the Amigaworld IRC network continues to function via the remaining US and European Amigaworld Servers
They are:-
UK.Amigaworld.Net
US2.Amigaworld.Net
NO.Amigaworld.Net
Updates will continue to be posted here as and when we know.

Amigaworld.net down : Comment 107 of 281 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Anonymous on 03-Sep-2004 12:22 GMT | In reply to Comment 106 (Sigbjørn Skjæret): And how many times exactly does the same opinion have to be stated before it becomes trolling? 5? 10? 60? 65536?
And exactly how many threads have there been on this subject, and have any of them outside the first one, which btw stated a lot of peoples opinion on the matter ,contributed anything worthwhile, other than a lot of completely useless flaming and trolling? We are loosing good people to other platforms because they're sick and tired of having to listen to the continious bashing from both sides.
This is not helping anyone and hasn't been helping anyone for a long time. Why it's brought up every single time something positive happens about OS4, or in every thread where something Eyetech or Hyperion related is discussed is just beyond my understanding. And this not the only matter that is brought up on a regular basis.
All I see here are people that simply can't accept the fact that some people might not agree with them, might not share their opinions, or don't care what their opinions are. You might consider them "blind", "clueless" or whatever but they're still very titled to their opinion, and to sharing it with people that are likewise minded.
Facts:
1.) Someone once said something would be ready in two weeks. It was obviously wrong, there are some reasons why it was wrong, you might not agree with them either, either way, no one cares.
2.) There are some people who believe DMA on the Articia is impossible to implement, based on their own experience with it. The chipset revision might not be the same, you might or might not agree with that. It hasn't been proven or disproven yet. It might at some point either be proven or disproven, but seeing as it's been talked to death already, until that happens, no one cares.
3.) The GNU public license is at http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html, you might care a lot about the foundation of free software and the GNU public license, you might have no opinion on it, and you might care about it when the purpose of caring is mainly to bash someone you don't like. You might or might not agree that some programmers aren't complying with it. They might be on both sides of the pound. Take it up with them personally, because frankly, no one cares. |
