Due to censorship by Argo the thread is locked but it is interesting to see a major Anti Amiga Inc webmaster turn in to a Genesi attacker and a certain website defender.

Interesting thread on Amiga.org : Comment 78 of 382 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Thomas Würgler/Pagan on 06-Sep-2004 17:13 GMT | In reply to Comment 77 (Bernie Meyer): I suppose the only thing to do is ignore trolling as far as possible and try to debate things in a constructive manner. As I see it there are two ways forward or alternatively the end.
1. Serious communication between groups.
2. Absolute separation of the groups.
I don't think there's any in-between. I firmly believe a good starting point is to regard other users as invidual and legitimate reasons for their choice of computer - regardless what the choice is. Yes, there are always some who choose something different just to be different, but I do not believe they are the majority here. Not even the majority of the vocal minority of trolls to be honest. A good starting point is the idea that another user of an Amiga-like solution has just as good a reason as yourself for using his/her platform of choice. After that it's basically just about treating others as you would like to be treated yourself. Unless you're a masochist. I assmue there are some in this community ;)
But communication really is key. If everyone just hang out with other like-minded people and don't talk to other Amiga users fights are bound to break out when users meet. Online that is - Amiga users are surprisingly civil in real life. Mostly. |
