Due to censorship by Argo the thread is locked but it is interesting to see a major Anti Amiga Inc webmaster turn in to a Genesi attacker and a certain website defender.

Interesting thread on Amiga.org : Comment 91 of 382 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Christian Kemp on 06-Sep-2004 17:32 GMT | In reply to Comment 71 (Bernie Meyer): As far as I'm concerned, I occasionaly criticized Amiga Inc. after it had become abundantly clear that they had made many bad business and marketing decisions, and there was no indication they were trying to remedy the situations they had got themselves into. Personally, I lost hope in Amiga Inc. quite late, after the "Club Amiga" incident; especially since I still feel like I was used as an (unaware) partner in promoting that scheme - people might still remember how many news items were posted on that subject on ANN, some probably by me (I actually still did news items in those days), and which clearly contributed to how many people fell for that thing.
I criticized Genesi after it was abundantly clear that they had made many bad decisions too, angered a lot of (former) employees; and specifically in my case not paid me for my employment with them, even though there was a valid full-time unlimited-duration contract signed by both parties. I wouldn't have minded as much if it hadn't been for the bad information politics, and their attempts to manipulate people and somehow get out of my employment contract without either paying, or even acknowledging I had ever worked for them.
(Let's not get into the details on all of this. It's not worth it.)
Still, I don't care much anymore. I have a stable job again, I actually like getting up to go to work in the mornings, and earn more money than I did before. ANN is just an afterthought in all of this, as I too have become tired of the endless and pointless fights between people with few intelligent well-reasoned thoughts and much free time; and often enough my sole motivation has been that the advertisement banners covered my server cost and connectivity bills. It seems like this will no longer be the case, so maybe it will soon be time to call it quits, and invest my time elsewhere. |
