So the World May Know: To all AmigaOne board owners : Comment 95 of 113 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Anonymous on 05-Oct-2004 01:59 GMT | In reply to Comment 94 (Anonymous): A fancy tower is not a computer nor even an electronic device, it's just a decoration, until you build a PC using it. The CE mark _is_ required for electronics sold retail in the EU (within some EU countries national marks are an optional alternative), as it is for children's toys of any kind, and for a wide variety of other potentially dangerous or annoying objects.
Unmarked items in the relevant categories are not fit for retail sale. They're not even supposed to be _imported_ by someone like Alan, since they can't be sold without testing and Alan is just a shopkeeper. When you buy a Thinkpad, or a cheap Asus motherboard, or whatever it comes CE marked from the factory where it was made. |
