Pre-release 2 just includes a quick fix to make viewing of comments possible in v2 (adding already worked). The rest of the comments script was not changed, so ignore most links in there. On an unrelated subject, the old archives can be accessed here, although the layout is at least two generations behind. You can currently not post any news items, if you want something to appear here, please mail it to me with as many details as possible.

Nice work.
However, to things:
View list doesn't work:
An error has occured.
Unable to open /home/ckemp/public_html/old/10001/articles/949350564.msg/sub/del
And the size of the comments has not been fixed. The current poll html file is over double the size of stated.

The size is measured correctly, but not very intuitively. It corresponds to
the size of all the messages, but does not include any HTML code (which is
producing quite an overhead).

ANN is great now :) this is my first port of call since CUCUG did the dirty. The one thing I'd really appreciate is a simple cookie which stored all my viewing options.

I see that different items have different color borders. I am sure that these relate to the News Files Web Rant Motd options at the top of the page. If yes, instead of a gray background, could you use the relevant color as the background for each option?

I guessed that already, but you know the size of the start and end headers, and you know the exact amount of extra html for each comments. Why not add this in the calculations ?
