Sauro is quoting from the Aros website that says: There are still problems to build AROS Native/i386 with EGCS (GCC 2.95.2) which should be resolved, soon. Some more screenshots have been added. It's Doom, this time. Unlike other Amiga ports of Doom, Doom can be run several times on AROS and you can even play multiplayer games on one machine (not very useful, though: The keyboard is just too small for four players :-).

correct me if I'm wrong but couldn't DoomAttack work with multiple players on one Amiga?

In reply to Comment 1 (the man in the shadows):
Yes, but it was aimed at debugging/testing rather than serious play. The problems IIRC were that it was slow, required you to pull down a second screen to show two DOOMs at the same time, and so on...

In reply to Comment 2 (John Chandler):
BTW... ZhaDoom could do this too, two or more Dooms at the same time... in a
WB Window... (you have to do -nosound for all Doom's except the first, though).
No network play for the other Doom's, though, but it was principially possible
to run several Doom Clients... at still a nice speed...

If someone wants the AROS Doom multiplayer routines just ask. They are
based on the one's from DoomAttack but bugfixed and not in an external
plugin. BTW: AROS Doom is based on ADoomPPC.
The multiplayer on one computer thing would also be easy to do with AROS
Quake, but unfortunately there is actually still some problem with
task switches in AROS (under Linux i386) where some FPU registers
(condition codes?) don't seem to be saved and when you start two programs
which use the FPU floating point calc. go wrong.
