This is to let you know that the WordWorth7 update files are now being held on the Kickstart Amiga user group site based in
Surrey, England. This is with the kind permission of Digita who no
longer have them on their site.

Posted by Paolo on 02-Mar-2000 23:00 GMT | Good! I've bought recently a copy of WW7 and I was looking for the update to v7.01..
Let's hope someone will continue the development of this great product, maybe Digita will release the sources under the GNU licence, who knows.. ;) |

Posted by Matt Hey on 02-Mar-2000 23:00 GMT | I would love to have OS 3.5 24 bit printing support. WW could use better color
handling/RTG support. Needs a few bug fixes as well (creating a directory in asl
requestor under OS3.5 crashes every time here). It's too good of a program not
to be udated. |

Posted by Paolo on 03-Mar-2000 23:00 GMT | Maybe we could open a public webpage where people can fill a form, and then ask Digita to give the sources of the program to a team they choose.
So, who wants to buy WW, can get the WW7 Cd, and then use the updates from Aminet or so.. :) |

Posted by John Chandler on 03-Mar-2000 23:00 GMT | WordWorth has gotten me through everything from university coursework to CVs, job reports and documentation, article writing, everything - it's a great app, though let down by the small selection of file import/export options and some niggles with tables.
Good to see Digita passing the support of this to someone else, though it would be even better to see Digita pick up the development of the Amiga version again in the near future... I want Wordworth 8! ;-) If Amiga or Phoenix are reading, don't overlook this product or the developer.

Posted by Martin Baute on 04-Mar-2000 23:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 2 (Paolo): I don't really understand why this is considered such
good news. The 7.01 update has always been available
from www.schatztruhe.de...
BTW, might be that I am mistaken, but when I last compared
Wordworth and Final Writer, I left with the impression that
Final Writer was only good in those areas Wordworth was
not-so-well (tables, footnotes), but rather bad in everything
else (where Wordworth excelled)...
But, reality check, _both_ products don't stand a chance
to be accepted as office duty word processors by the masses.
If Amiga wants to be successful, we need _much_ better stuff
than WW and FW combined.
Hopefully Corel is listening... |
