Not Exactly the newest device. Looks like the board design copywright date is 1996, according to the picture on the website.

This device was sold around 1990. It wasn't even useful back then. I
don't understand that anyone would like to have this board now either.
Seems more like some sort of nastalgic trip or just a plain joke to
me.

Wow, what a monumentally useless device. Might have been cool ten years ago though.

Now if there was a G4 on it instead of a NEC V30... :-)

In reply to Comment 4 (Sledge):
Sledge is right, this product first became available in 1990 and was known as the "KCS
Power PC Board". It was distributed in North America by a company called "Pulsar".
Believe it or not, the orginal suggested retail price in Canada, was $799.99!!! It
came bundled with an official version of MS-Dos v.4 complete with a thick MS-Dos
manual. I bought it used, dirt cheap a few years ago thinking I might revive one of my
Amiga 500's some day...just for kicks...I haven't so far. :P
I saw an A500 fitted with one of these boards being auctioned off at eBay about a month
ago and could not believe people were offering over $100 - $150 for it. Perhaps people
were getting confused with the "Power PC" label? :)
BTW, the IBM emulation is only for XT DOS...but the feature I like is that in addition
to 512k of expansion ram, it also adds a 512k "hard" ramdisk...sort of like a tiny
hard disk for A500 owners who lack one.
Anyways, my guess is someone found a crate of these boards under a pile of dust in an
old warehouse somewhere, and Computer City is checking out what A500 owners are left
out there that might be interested. I happen to own 3 or 4 A500's in addition to my
1200's and 3000 Tower...but I haven't fired up an A500 in years.
Regards,
Vince.

.(don't want this, my Amiga's featureless browser is better for some silly reason (sarcasm))
This is where I get a little miffed at the Pee Cee heads on here. The Amiga browsers, well, AWeb anyway, have more underlying features than either of the Pee Cee browsers. It's the *plug-ins* that make the difference, and that has more to do with lack of overall Amiga support from proprietary companies than a mark against the browsers.

SO how fast is the PeeSea Emulation, and can I run a GUI on it, say NewDeal Office or Win 3.11? I think this would be kind of kool, but how much would that be in $$?

A question of emulation?
Why?
You could probably get a cheap PC for about £400 / $600 with a HI RES MONITOR (oooh!) and 16bit sound (aaah!) cheap modem with a PROPER WWW browser (don't want this, my Amiga's featureless browser is better for some silly reason (sarcasm)).
Upgrading an Amiga 500. Mmmmh. I think I did that when I got my first amiga (1989).

In reply to Comment 7 (XDelusion):
It's a V30 NEC, ie: 286 equivilent. It's 16 years out of date, would run Windoze 3, slooooowly. You'd get a better speed out of PC-Task 4 on an 060... :)
