I'm really sorry, but what have these 8 guys been doing for the past 2 years? I was finally looking forward to a Mario64 clone.
In stead I experienced a sleeping inducer. The game runs incredibly slow on my A4000/040 Cybervision 3D and as for gameplay, they forgot to include it.
The idea is fine, I just think it's way to early to release a game looking like and playing like that.
Rewrite the game engine to Warp3D and lets see it again, please.
:-(((

What's the objective? It all looks pre-1.3 Amiga to me, even though it
is 3D, it looks "not very good" and play "not much better", sorry but
I wouldn't buy it ;((

Thanks.
Yep, I admict we could have added an option where you could choose the camera perspective, but lack of time, too many bugs and many other things didn't make this reality... much people reported this.

well, if you want constructive criticism:
I thought you did the camera movement quite well.
It was however very hard to judge where mid-air blocks were. I think you'd need an option to rotate the view independent of the player's character, to see it from a few angles. Or perhaps have shadows on the ground beneath floating things.

well, although its not the style of game i normally play, it wasnt a bad
game. although it did seem to have quite a few bugs. the music was
very cool however.. im really into my game music :))
it run pretty fast on my a3000/060 with CV643D.
i'd love to see some complex 2d platformers/shooters released. im
really looking forward to that turrican alike game if it
ever gets finished. i would quite like a new space trading game
though. i doubt i will have the hardware needed for explorer2260
and i sometimes wonder if that will ever see the light of day.
many new amiga games seem to lack playability. i almost
bought t-zero, but luckily i played the demo first.
great gfx .. but.. the samples were really quite bad.
orchestra hits from some cheap casio keyboard
and that horrible clickboom whiney american womans voice everywhere :)
it lacked playability too. it was a strange combination of
space game but with fruit machine type bonus's. didnt work for me.
oops. im waffling on. anyway.. at least
there is some game development for amiga. something is better
than nothing i guess :)

Thanks Ben.
Infact I wanted to point out that we're (not only me) tired of people always critic who still work on Amiga... VirtualGP sucks, AmigaOS3.5 sucks, FoundationDC sucks, Phase5 sucks, Darkage sucks, Hyperion rocks but they costs too much so I'll get their game from Los Endos, WipeOut 2097 is nice but it requires too much powerful hardware so I won't buy it, etc etc.
Hey people, it seems you've lost the Amiga spirit! Get a Playstation and have all the fun you're looking for ;)
Tales from Heaven was started when 3d cards and PPC weren't out yet, it was a work we tried to finish even if the Amiga market was smaller and smaller, and we did the best we did. We started as a fulltime company, but now we can only work part-time, due to big costs to keep alive a company.
After the release of Tales, we've started from scratch a new 3d engine, written in C, with external API support in mind (eg, Warp3d), and I don't care if we won't sell 1000 copies of Tales. We started this new engine because we like to develop on Amiga.
We just ask some feedback, not only bad critics without sense.

I think people who are criticising the game for not supporting gfx cards and PPC are missing the point. This game is aimed at lower end users, like AGA+030. CGFX compatibility seems to just be a bonus.
The demo is very short though. Seems hard to judge gameplay in such a short time.

Your opinion could be interesting, but why don't you sign with your name and email?
It's really boring to receive only bad feedback from your work on Amiga.
So far we sold less than 100 copies of TfH, and be sure we *WON'T* do anymore stuff for these people.. I'm currently working on coin-op games.
I had to write it, sorry :)

Why give my email address? For enourmous amounts of SPAM?! As for the poor sales, I bet clickBOOM's and Hyperion's sales figures are far better. Okay, CB's games playability sucks bigtime, but at least it have some decent gfx...

I know Darkage a bit since I wrote some lines about them in Anews (France).
I know that they are great people. ToH is like an old game, that's true, but nevertheless for people not having a PPC and a Gfx board, it's something.
I whish Paolo and his team will learn from this game (development tools, 3D engine, playability problems etc...) and will give us what they REALLY can do.
I wish you all the best Paolo !

It's true, the gfx are far from being good, but for me the biggest game's fault is its playability, which is crap at best. Unfortunately, the Amiga games scene is being best in conversions than in original games nowadays, which is a pity, since the Amiga has been always known for its spetacular original games... :(
C'Mon guys, where's all your creativity?
