I dont care for using the Voodoo, maybe something like the G-Force or Rage 128 however- then I will notice, as long as it isn't two or three years out of date

The guys on the ImageFX mailing list were talking about it some time ago. I read about it back when I was first getting into ImageFX and don't remember what all was said, but it was mentioned that ImageFX was used in the pre-production.

Are they using ImageFX purely? Completely and utterly, not porting graphics over to Silicon Graphics machines, doing rendering on powerful Unix boxes?
I don't think so.
Anyway, don't you think I have a point?

Hey,
Mind giving some more details on these guys who do this GAP thing on the Amiga?
Details like what is this GAP anyways, and maybe a website for these 'guys' who do it on Amigas will be appreciated!
Thanks in advance for any help,
Regards.

Oh, you've had several points; many of which seem to be under your hat.
Tell me, what rendering is necessary in taking images from source (cameras), assembling them and sending them to broadcast systems? That's all the G-A-P ads are. Why would you even bring Silicon Graphics systems into the equation? Will you also be mowing your lawn with a bulldozer?

Ya, it is kind of tiring watching Amiga play catch up all the time, but then again, I am not going to bitch if someone takes the time to port this sorce code.
And as for me, I could care less if we ever got a G-force, it is a well known fact that the VooDoo cards are the best supported, and always provide what they offer. Such as "REAL" Glide support.
I love the Backwards compatablility with these cards!
Oh, and as for Memory, we could assign that the Chip ram now couldn't we!??! Too bad they don't make the RAM usuable on PeeSeas. :(

: film graphics, 3D stuff, what the hell are you doing it on an Amiga for?
Tell that to the people who do the commercials for GAP... pure ImageFX, strait up!

I'd rather have anything Voodoo for my Amiga. They've always supported developers and end-users to the fullest, and their hardware is pretty no-nonsense to work with at the register level (although I know most don't do that nowadays). I wouldn't be surprised at all if 3dfx supported the new Amiga from the start when it is available.

Who cares?
If you want good games get a Dream Cast / Playstation(II)
If you want graphics get a PC or Mac.
The choice is simple.
There's tons more support on other platforms, why must people always play catch up? I'm not a graphics person but even I know that the Voodoo III came out ages ago and there's probably been two more generations of cards since then.
If you want graphics, web deployment, magazine production, film graphics, 3D stuff, what the hell are you doing it on an Amiga for?

Okay, so one advert in the past five years has used one particular proggy on an Amiga. Big deal.
You don't get my point? Okay I'll make it again (under my hat? Shut up.)
"Will you also be mowing your lawn with a bulldozer", if I get a cleaner - better cut of the grass, I can do it much quicker with more ease, the bulldozer costs less than the lawn mower for more power, then my answer is yes.
The point is, why should an entire Amiga community have to play catch-up all the time when there are much better cost-effective solutions out there (and they are better)?
Under my hat, try under my Red Hat and you're getting close.

Because we are supporting the Amiga market. Amiga is more than just a computer for us ! Why are you going to bed with your girlfriend or wife when you can do it with a prettier women: fidelity, loyalty.
I admire loyalty and I understand that some people like you does not even think about it. If you want to have a future with Amiga you have to support it.
It is why we were named the Amiga community.
