Mame on AROS : Comment 1 of 6 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Midnight Ryder on 08-Mar-2000 23:00 GMT | Holy Smokes - Doom, Quake, and MAME under AROS?! AROS has been under development for so long, I kinda have given it up for dead - my mistake! Personally, I find it pretty cool - maybe one of these days AROS will finally "Grow Up" and turn out to be a full-fledged product after all!
Congratz to the AROS team :-) |

A lot of effort is going into the AROS project. We're determined to turn it into a professional clone of AmigaOS that will run on a wide variety of systems (including x86 and PowerPC). We believe people want to see AmigaOS evolve onto "next-generation" (or should that be "current generation"?) CPUs, and we're determined to give those people who support our approach what they want.
Keep your eyes on AROS and Open Amiga.. as the saying goes "you ain't seen nothin' yet!" .. look for some big announcements over the coming few weeks!
Regards
Steve

Posted by Midnight Ryder on 09-Mar-2000 23:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 5 (Weeble): Well, it's got MAME - Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. It's got Pac-Man, and just about every Pac-Man variant, Sequel (including odd ones you don't see like Pac&Pal) and clone. All told, MAME runs around 2,000 arcade games. |
