Ben Hermans/Hyperion writes: In spite of what is posted on Amiga Flame, Heretic 2 is not "released" yet although it will be available in early April.

It's a bit hard to include reviews of the Amiga version when this version isn't finished yet.
So we decided to include reviews of the PC. As soon as reviews for the Amiga were available, we included those. Check our site - Amiga Format 95%.
Heretic from 1998? Sure and so is your hardware.
No current Amiga hardware can run Qauke III.
Heretic 2 is still a very good game as the AF Gold medal proves.

I did't want to be offensive....I said that I'm sure that your game is great, and I will buy it...it was only a little critic....what I want to say is that I believe is useless to read a PC review for me...I will not buy this game because a great review for the PC version....:)))

Err....actually, QuakeIII suck really hard.

On the Hyperion hp, in the reviews section, there are some quotings of reviews of Heretic II.....all comments say it's wonderful, but if you follow the links you see they're old reviews of the PC version....that's not nice for 2 reasons:
1) I need to see a review of Amiga version if a review should help me to decide if buy it or not...a review of PC version is not useful....the PC version should be fantastic....but the Amiga ver??
2) Moreover I said that these reviews are very old...1998...so the game WAS fantastic in 1998....but now?? Have you seen Quake3?? :))
However....I'm sure the Amiga game is fantastic too...I will buy it...Only I din't like this attemp to "sell a product"...:)))

Er, it's the same game, why is a PC version review "useless"? The
only thing an Amiga version review can add is how well it runs on our
hardware. That's important, but at least the PC reviews will give you
an idea whether it's a good *game* or not. (Seems good to me, I'll
buy a copy as soon as I can get my hands on one....)

It's useless because it does not give any indication as to how stable or polished the finished product on the Amiga will be. It would be like every Amiga magazine reviewing the arcade version of Double Dragon in anticipation of the Amiga version of Double Dragon.

Its great that someone is bothering to port games for the Amiga, but in regards to NG Amiga, has anyone considered contacting companies about porting NEW games? 2 year old ports aren't really a good selling point... and if you must port instead of doing something original, why not port something worthwhile? while I'm sure we all know the new Amiga will be great, the average consumer (and lets face it, he/she is a complete dumbass) will see old games and say "this isn't as good as (friends/neighbours etc) PC".

In reply to Comment 8 (David Shipman):
2 year old games - please! If you talking about Heretic 2 (or Sin and Shogo), that was indeed released in DECEMBER of 1998.
But was it finished? Not really, some patches and enhancements pack were released several weeks/months later. So in reality the game you will be getting will only be around 1 year old.
Plus you are forgetting the most important part: we could easily get newer games (and have in fact licenses for newer games which we have not yet disclosed) but the current Amiga hardware is simply not up to the task mainly because of the crappy Permedia 2.
We concentrate on getting GOOD games instead of crappy NEW games.
