Frogger 1.55 released : Comment 1 of 22ANN.lu

Why is it that almost all of the recent players are shareware, why is it that amiga owners have to pay for something that every one else get for free.
Frogger, Softcinema and others..

In reply to Comment 1 (Frederik):
Because others in some cases are either outdated or have something to offer
in their big business they can afford to be "free". You wouldn't want to --work
for free--, would you? :)

I know it may be annoying to pay for a shareware product, but hey - v1.55 supports DVD! =)

Well I am not saying that it is stupid too pay for some thing, I buy a lot of different
software for my amiga.
But it just bathers me sometimes, also because it is rather difficult, at least I think.
And no I would not like to work for free either.
And yes Frogger has some very good features, that none of the others have.

Exactly.. If you're going to charge for it, at least make it
-convenient- to pay.. If it was something that could be paid for by
CreditCard, he'd have a sale.. (Not saying that it's still rediculous
to have to pay for it in the first place)
Hey.. Where can I DL 1.54. anyhow?

Can't you buy a dedicated DVD player if you want to watch movies, it's a lot easier?
Or does this software do MPEG-II encoding too?

Sure RegNet is convenient, but I have a problem paying a fee based on the value of the item being sold not on the value of the service being provided.

Ah.. sad to read that there won't be more demos from you :(
Btw, why don't you merge SoftCinema and Frogger into one player for all kind of videos? Then the registration could be a bit more expensive, but it'll be the DEFINITIVE video player for the Amiga! =)
Just an idea.. ;)

Excuse my french - creditcard payment is the biggest bullshit I ever
heard of! There are so many people outta here not having a CC (including me)!
And if I had one, the last thing i would do with it is sending it thru
the net! Not even with SSL!
There are so many good examples of what payments can be like... (via
0900# e.g.) ... Dont settle for less and check out some NEW and
Y2K-appropriate methods of payments! It is the beginning of
d-commerce (well - digital commerce:-)... EVERYBODY is supposed to be
able to pay stuff and keep secure ya know?
