An anonymous poster quotes the
Open Audio Library page:
OpenAL seeks to become the audio counterpart to OpenGL for
audio. OpenAL is open source, provided under the terms of the
Lesser GNU Public
License (LGPL) and says Currently there are only versions for
Windows, Linux and Mac OS. Is(Are) there any Amiga programmer(s)
interested in porting it to AmigaOS or even the new Amiga?

Open AL is still in a very early stage of development and at this moment provides nothing useful for Amiga users.
We are however keeping track of its development. |

Posted by Anonymous on 17-Mar-2000 23:00 GMT | we have one that is better and not based on bus arch. But rather superior bus DAA .
IF we keep on trying idiotioc things like this AMIGA wil just be a microcrap wintel machine.
Which they themselves have admited that they were out of date and on the edge of there technology.
After all intel is just opying verbatium and paying a royalty to Motorolla's technology of 50 years ago.
Iff is either 24bit and or true 16bit and or text and or moives . so why be limited to 16bit of information that is open to oen
form of media and not multimedia . Hence that iswhy the AMIGA was made in the first place Tighter programming.
WAKE UP. GOD GRIEF |

Posted by TOASTER on 18-Mar-2000 23:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 3 (Anonymous): Hey there!
kool down!
I am sure u meant good things when u said all that - whatever u said back there!
I mean, i understood some of it (i think).
But i think u better leave it to the experts (Hyperion et al!)
They know what they're doing.
Of course i am not discounting the possibilities of such a movement, but as it stands, it is still in it's infancy!
That's a big risk to take, given the current situation.
I am sure interested people out there like OAF/Aros etc will benefit from this (in some way or the other!) |
