Ben Yoris writes: After receiving more than 640 entries, Elwood's AmiJoe survey proposes now to name the OS you'd like to see supported by the AmiJoe cards. Though this survey is unofficial, we know that Metabox read it ! Don't hesitate to fill the survey on http://elwoodb.free.fr/Amijoe/

So, there's still people who believe that AmiJoes aren't pure
vaporware?
Unbelievable... :)

Why in the world would anyone want Linux (or any of the other OS's listed) on the new hardware? It's already available for the fastest hardware right now. Two hours tops and the OS of my choice (other than AmigaOS) is on my desktop.

In reply to Comment 3 (Roj):
This survey has been made to tell Metabox what WE want.
Actually, I'm sure that a BIG majority want AmigaOS support on the Amijoecard.
But maybe not Metabox, as there are rumours telling they plan to release the boards only with Linux.
So the aim is to tell them, after the hardware, what software we want for these boards to be able to buy them and to use them.

Sent an email to Met@Box asking when the AmiJoe will be available, got the following reply:
-I know, the website is being updated and unfortunately it is taking more time
-than expected.
-
-The problem with AmiJoe is that the software is not yet finished. Hopefully in
-about three months.
If they are trying to get it available in 3 months, some software coding must have already been started.

I know surely that nothing has started concerning the software.

I don't know, I mean, how long would it take to code the software?

Shouldn't we ask H&P instead ?

comment 2: I don't believe they are vapor. Maybe that is because we've had one knocking around the Amiga Active offices for about 3 months?
Various: Writing the software isn't the only time factor. There is also the factor of two independant corporate entities, one of which has far, far bigger fish to fry, negotiating a deal.
