I really think I should go back to moderated news postings, while
trying to keep the current level of news submissions. Currently, I am struggling
very much in real life ("a crazy little thing called love", to quote Queen), so
ANN doesn't get as much attention as it should, but I hope to be able to return
with regained energy and motivation sometime soon. Sorry for whining so much on
here, but I feel like I owe you an apology and explanation for not putting too much
time and work into this site lately. Meanwhile, I'd like to ask people to tone
down on the amount of advertisements for their own sites, please keep this related
to Amiga "news" and do not make it a marketing speak showcase. Thanks.

Posted by SirRUSH on 18-Apr-2000 22:00 GMT | Thanks, CK. It may mean the posts become fewer BUT I'd rather that than continue
with a lot of usless junk we've been getting a lot of lately. I understand that
people would like others to check out their sites but this isn't the forum for that.
It's a pitty that you opened it up for a free-for-all & it got abused as it did. :( |

a big favor in running ANN and we love you for it. |

Posted by Andre Page on 18-Apr-2000 22:00 GMT | I don't think it is all that bad.
Most of the posts have been "interesting"
even if not "major" Amiga news.
(How much "major" Amiga news has there been?)
Maybe having more "guidelines" posted where
people posting must read them before posting
would help a little?
You can always uncheck the "Unmoderated" button
if you don't like it. |

Posted by Jon Allen on 18-Apr-2000 22:00 GMT | How about having a separate category for items that are not really 'news' as such, but may still be of interest to Amiga users. It seems that there is a bit of division over this issue, so why not give it a try and let people choose what they want to read? |

Posted by Colin Wilson on 18-Apr-2000 22:00 GMT | That sounds like a good idea - two parallel sites, one with the user-postings, and the main site with the proper moderated stuff.
Good luck with the love life m8, you deserve one after all the hard work ! (have you christened the new car yet ;-) )

Posted by Gabriele Favrin on 19-Apr-2000 22:00 GMT | First, good luck with your love! ;-)
So said, leave unmoderate mode on. Who don't want to read these messages
(that contains many news, some more interesting, some less) can still et
prefs to not see them, so why remove something that *is* a feature? |

Good luck with your non-amiga life! |

I am still getting my daily dose of news, so don't sweat the site. It's much more important to enjoy yourself.
I can assure you, from firsthand experience that you will not be young forever. Enjoy! |
