This morning, ANN's graphical counter indicated that there have been 900,000 visitors so far. This counter has been recording the number of graphical visits since the very start of ANN almost three and a half years ago. The number of visitors, as well as the pageviews are slowly but gradually going up. At the current pace, ANN will record about 350,000 requests and show 175,000 pages this month. I wanted to thank all my loyal readers and visitors, and I hope to keep providing a valuable service to all of you.

I'm a visitor from the UAE (United Arab Emirates - the country that is) and I visit ANN 2-3 times a day using my PC (sob) I was an Amiga User/Developer, one project was to Arabise Scala and link it to a live DBMan database and create the first Arabic Scala Info channel, anyway that was a long time ago and I miss Amiga and hope It'll come back. All I have now is UAE (the emulator that is) and great memories of my beloved Amiga.
I have a site too, uccnet.8k.com and ANN is in my favourate link section.
I wish for more success for ANN - good job indeed, you're keeping Amigan's in touch.

Just a thought, Christian: Maybe you could have a little competition here, where the one millionth visitor would receive some modest prize. I'm sure Amiga dealers or some other Amiga company would be willing to donate something. I mean, one million visitors, that's quite remarkable for any site on the Net.

I no longer visit the Amiga, but it is my first true love. And you know what they say about first love.
I started visiting your site after Amiga Web Directory went under. Since then, if I browse, I visit your site. I am still hopeful that the Amiga we come back. Your site plays a major role in letting us know, what is going on in this community. Keep up the good work.

It moved to its own box in the navigation bar.

The problem is, right now, that I couldn't provide you with any different news,
since I am not aware of anything else going on. If I were to moderate again, I
might present the news in a different writing style, but the amount and topics
would still be the same.
I've been looking on csam, but there is nothing worth reporting. I guess some
other news sites have different news, but I'm not too keen on reprinting what's
already available elsewhere.

Thanks for visiting. I'm trying to keep the page "great". :)

I've had the same thought, already when the (mostly unnoticed) 800,000 barrier
was crossed, but I didn't really pursue it for a number of reasons.
Eternity might have been a good partner for this, too bad they eventually
expected me to sell banner space for less than it's worth.
As far as other Amiga dealers are concerned, I'm not aware of anyone willing
to donate some outstanding hardware or software. A 1,000,000 contest on ANN
will either be huge, or won't happen at all.

That's where the beauty of this site is. For the longest time I've not seen any type of "over on this site they said" postings... Which just makes each of the Amiga news sites great. Though I do have an idea for you CK. I'm not a very huge fan of /. but this might be worth looking into on your next revision of the code.
Let's say you have open season on the postings like they are now except you or other people moderate some of the "top news" articles. From there add the ability to quickly select "top articles" that are added to a front page. Then keep the unmoderation going with ideas and posts of something like a message board. Also linking some of the hottest debates onto the main page would be a great idea as well. With this in mind, add the ability to let a user create a form of user poll in the message. This would give it a feel of something like slashdot but would definately make things very interesting. This would allow everyone to get their voice heard as well as give the opertunity for you to keep the news fresh and current without having to wade through all that junk in c.s.a.m.
Keep up the great work CK!
