Cybes writes: In an attempt to gain further information regarding the release date of the AmiJoe I have been in contact with a variety of places. Read more below. Blittersoft UK informed me that the units were ready and waiting on Haage & Partner (presumably for a license for the PPC 68k emulator+warpup). Bill Mc Ewen mentioned in a speech a short while back that they were working though with Met@box to lower the cost of the Amijoes to be around the 250$us or so mark by using as many standardized parts as possible. This still left the question of when it would come out so i then contacted met@box themselves, in which their international rep ("Susan") replied: "Please keep an eye on the website. I have no further info at present". Does anyone know anything more on this matter regarding its release?

Having spoken to blittersoft about release dates for the amijoe1200 they say
that there is a problem with how the memory was designed. something to do with wasn't
the software spec.. They reckon it's going to take about another 4 weeks to
modify and release. For more info. you could always start hassling blittersoft.

In reply to Comment 41 (JOEL EHRET):
Sigh...this is Thomas Rudloff's project and he decides when
he has time to continue working on it and with whom he works
together.
H&P surely won't change anything with force by mobilizing
people like you.
Thomas told me yesterday that there'll be a webpage update in
the next time to explain the delays so just keep some patience
instead of spamming some company/people which are under heavy
workload because of real income projects.

In reply to Comment 50 (George Kaliviotis):
Hi!
For WarpOS two compiler systems free of charge are available:
- vbcc: at http://devnull.owl.de/~frank
- gcc (which is actually - AFAIK - one of the best optimizing compiler on this
planet): http://www.kinsey.u-net.com/work.html
Actually gcc-WarpUP is also used by commercial developers.

I guess I should thank you all for your comments. The two times I've come back to read thios thread, the more information I found. It's a pity that there is some flame throwing, though. I suppose we'd all like to have a single, official solution, and a line of consistent products, instead of several half finished (or even, on ly half announced) projects. I have respect for each and every project that actually has WORKING PEOPLE on them, even if I get to know that the G3 cards are just an engineer's spare time effort. It's a pity, also, that everyone pushes for his own solution, many times stealing potential from someone else. I realized a long time ago just how small the Amiga market is, and have gotten used to it. May we prosper one day. Until then, I hope the best luck to each and every (incompatible) project, that's what the Amiga is about.
