Actually, most of the Amiga dealers are also
selling PCs these days so buying from an Amiga
dealer makes sense. You are supporting Amiga
initiative by purchasing from Amiga dealers,
and getting as good a price as anywhere else.
At least you can be sure you get a supported
PC platform for development.

£80 for the SDK ? - not a bad mark up considering they`re supposed to be $99
With the exchange rate running at about £1.00=$1.60, it should only be about £62

I understand why you are upset, You should come and join our commodore 64, 128 club. We are all starting to get a little tired and we need some new young blood to keep our commodore 64's running. Also , seeing that you know a little about the amiga, we are looking for somone to start a Amiga 1000 club to unite with our Commodore 64 club. We need people like you to keep this old technology alive. Keep up the good fight and hope to hear from you soon.;-)

Well, it's looking a tad better. Good thing they chose a company such as Eyetech, which are really committed to the Amiga.

I dunno, even though I live in ireland, the masochist in me was sort of getting ready to see Anti-Gravity announce that *they* were building the first dev boxes....lol.
This is excellent news, and Eyetech actually have the SDK listed in their stock for £79.99.

Great news. I am glad the SDK and supported
hardware will be available from Amiga retailers
so soon. Even the local Amiga/PC dealer where I
live is going to be an official distributer.
This is exciting!

I'm still peeved that they upgraded from a Vic-20 to a Commodore 64!
What a waste of resources that was. They should learn from their mistakes!
Commey ba@#@#@s!

Don't forget that British prices include 17.5% VAT (sales tax) which they should take off for export orders. $99 in the US means $99+sales tax which could mean $110.

Oh grow up! What is a PC? It's a Personal Computer, and so is the Amiga! What
you are apparently (and rightly) against is the Wintel duopoly and the mediocre
crap they forced on us for so long.
Neither of the mentioned dev boxes run Windoze or use Intel processors, and both
feature 2 of the more desirable 3D chips on the market. If Phase5 or Metabox
announced a GeForce board you'd probably be lining up for it.
I bought a K6-3 450 this year (and it is running pir@e windoze) and equipped it
with an ASUS v6600 which features a TV input and included 3D glasses. I use it
about as much as the Amiga, though I still prefer the smaller footprint of the
Amiga over the swapping and gronking PeeCee beast. Truth is, I'm using the PC
to do 3D and game editing stuff, and the Amiga for image processing and the net.
I see it as buying a PC for a PC an not to replace it. The same brainwash NewTek
used to sell Amiga2000s to Mac users. The new HW rocks and it is just getting
better! I want to run Amie on an AMD Thunderbird machine with ATI's new Radeon
as my GPU. Unless the G4 Boxer comes down in price, 'cos I love the Boxer.

I know one thing.
If you are still using 1.3 OS, then you really don't know what the Amiga can do.
That is old man, and it ain't nothin compared to the higher OS.
If you can't afford to buy an Amiga w/OS 3.5 W/Hard Drive W/VGA monitor W/accelerator W/tower,
then just wait for the New Generation Amiga.
