What is the status of this project? There doesn't seem to be any information on it. How much is done?

Am I the only one who thinks that these projects will tear up the Amiga user-base ?
I mean when those Amiga OS clones finally will exist (sometime - but I doubt it...)
the small and smaller getting Amiga user-base will split up in Scalos, Amber, AmigaOS3.5, MorphOS, PowerOS etc....
And then there is for the NG Amiga: Elate, QNX, and what ever....
My 2 cents....

I have to agree that this spilts up the users all to much, all the projects should go together, just pick the best parts of all them and of those build a new PPC native AmigaOS (which is backwards compatible).
(seems to be some kind of error in the HTML whic prevents you to add comments with NetScape, had to change to Opera to write this).

Screen Shots??! Dunno what they are talking about, there are not screen
shots, how do I know it looks like Amiga!?!? DOE!!
As for the Amiga breaking up, well isn't Amiga OS supposed to run on
top of other OS's, I don't think we are breaking up, as far as I am
concerned anyhow, the old OS is pretty much dead, good, and flexable,
but it does not support the things of the new age, and Amiga them selves
said that that would require too much work to update it, so screw it, as
far as I am concerned the old OS is just a hobby now, and a very VERY good
memory!! An OS other's should definatly model there own after I.E. Be.

There is no even a homepage for it... It could easily be just a new hoax.

Heck... if we're gonna do a job, we may as well do it properly.
Fragmentation rulez... c'mon guys... band together and... er... go your seperate ways... let's kill the Amiga off for good ;-) j/k

I disagree. I thought one of the main reasons against microsoft was the fact that everyone uses the same OS. I personally dont see a problem with making lots of different operating systems, providing they all share common datatypes. If some people want to use a different OS, then let them, I think its great news.
Good luck to whoever is doing it.

There ya go, that is how I feel about it, like I have said in the past,
Linux is more than likely going to remain my server, it is free, and it is
made by hackers, who else would you trust to design your server the way it ought
to be, strong, stable, and sturdy.
As for right now, I am really digging Be with all it's bugs, but hey, everything
is destined to improve if the desire is there, with the exception of a few horror films I have seen. :O)

You have to think of how many PPC Amiga users there are, ti's quite few, let say that all the PPC OSs get a equal share of users, how many comapnies do you think would develope anything for PPC?
It will be more or less none. There are nothing like M$ in this at all, already WarpUP was to much for PPC, just draged it closer to the cold grave.

I'm amused that you think Scalos is a competitor to the other OS's you
mention. For the simple reason that Scalos isn't an operating system.

THis is another good point, while PPC is great and all, no one
has it, or desires to have it (unfortunatly) that is not where the
support is, hey even Linux and Be PPC apps are hard to come buy.
He is right, it is another dead floater. :O/

We have allready been split-up.
This WarpOS and PowerUp thing is like running two different OS'es. And this is still not resolved. Some people use only one of them. Others try to use both. But the fact of the matter is that it allready cost too much users and probably sales of Heretic 2.
MorphOS in my opinion will be the biggest breaker of them all. And if I read correct at the time then MUI 4 will only come out for MorphOS. Thats how they will try to lure us in.

I think that PPC 'classic' apps dont have a future for me.
I have to buy a 1000 dollar PPC board, for the graphics a 250 dollar CVISION
or a 300 dollar PCI board (wich does not exist) and a PCI GFX board...
Just to run a few more apps, that are available for PPC and not 68k...
While we still dont kmow if and in what way 'classic' Amiga will be supported
by the NG OS ! (PPC or not, AGA or not, UAE, Inside Out, or whatever)
For this money I could buy a PC wich will run the NG OS, or get an Amiga-One (later)
And still run Wipeout and heritic without PPC, but under Windows....
Sorry I seem to have mood swings..... (must be the time of year or month....)
