Well, this is a surprise. A new version of Delitracker. This one will also be the last release for the Amiga. The following new versions will be for the PC. Delitracker knows more then 150 module formats.

Wow!
<P>
But, why for the PC? I mean, for the Windows platform? Surely, Linux could need a good mod player, as the ones out there suck shit. MXXS, MikMod, XMP, all are just lousy.
<P>
Please, release the source or make a version for Linux, at least.

Better yet, for AMI. Then it will run on everything.

I notice that this story was rated with an average score of 1 (2 ratings at
the time I read it).<br><br>
Am I alone in thinking that the score was meant to show how
important/interesting the readers think a submitted news item is, and not
how "positive"/"negative" the news are?<br><br>
Cristian?<br><br>
Yes, I think this specific news item may be negative in that the Amiga
development of Delitracker has ceased (Or has it? Didn't it go open
source?), but I think it's quite interesting that such a "famous" program
like Delitracker is now freeware.

Oh, and I see that <br>'s or <p>'s aren't needed anymore. Great! ;)

It's a pity the Amiga development of Delitracker has ceased, but anyway it's very loyal from the author to release it for free to the Amiga community.. thanks! :)

I still make MOD's for the note, but more than anything I wish that music program that
comes with BeOS, would get upgraded soon, that is onc awsome program!!!
Very fun to use!

I listen to mod music all the time. I even listen to sid (c64) music often. If that makes me stupid, then I guess I'm pretty stupid indeed. :)

It is good the latest version is released. The author told me that once
the windows version is released (which it is now) that he `might`
consider letting someone else continue the development. Would be nice if someone
like Chris Hodges (author of 14bit noteplayer) got it as im sure he could make
many needed improvements. I myself am getting very tempted to resource
it and improve the gui, as this is deli's only real drawback :)
Recently the sourcecode of playsid for amiga was released, and there
is ongoing work to improve it and fix some of the bugs
Some time ago there was delitracker 3 in progess for the amiga, but then
the authors moved to pc.
anyway, it still is the best amiga music player. It has the most accurate
players for most formats and now even supports 64 channel IT modules.
For those that are interested in more players and exotic
mods for deli, do check out my site http://exotica.fix.no
(had to get that in here somewhere :) )

Seems to me I remember seeing a delitracker emulator for Linux, it looked like a cut down Amiga emulator just for running deli tracker....
Check the usual Linux sound app sites for info...

It would be absolutely fantastic if someone will continue work on DeliTracker. Just like you say,the GUI can be improved. If you don't then maybe I will. Well if it is written in C or C++.
