As of today, the d'Amiga developer machines are available throughout Europe. The distributor is KDH Datentechnik.

x86 Linux (RH 6.1) box, with Amiga SDK, and some outdated hardware addons.
All that for 'just' 2k DEM
Amiga....No need to say anything more.

In reply to Comment 1 (mr_W):
Do a bit of calculation. The hardware components, plus the price for the SDK, and only roughly 50 USD / 100 DM are left for KDH. They have to process orders,
do the shipments, they have the risk of d´Amiga not selling well (and taking up valuable storage space), and they have to make a living.
What did you expect, KDH / Amiga giving away the d´Amiga for free?

Christian, sorry to be so blunt, but your "rating" system is bull. People are using it totally wrongly. You should change the descriptions : something like "boring" to "interesting" or "relevant" to "irrelevant". Good and Bad seems to confuse people.

In reply to Comment 2 (Martin Baute):
If the d'amiga doesn't sell then you simply format the hard-drive and stick windows on it. Little to no risk at all !!!
Wait, of course, then they would be competing against other wintel retailers so would have to knock 40% of the price to realistic sell the stock.

In reply to Comment 1 (mr_W):
You don't *have* to buy that... And, if you had read the specs the price includes things like high-priority support, joining to the developers' network, 'free' tickets, etc.

I'm not sure. Either an article's quality is "good" or "bad". That's what the
ratings are for, and I don't really see a way to make it more explicit or less
confusing. I explained it repeatedly, and yet I get the impression that
the only people using it are a few visitors who think everything just sucks.

"Boring" - "interesting" / "relevant" - "irrelevant" are not more explicit??

In reply to Comment 4 (William Bennet):
Calculate the price and you get about 1700dm. That is *without* the 1000$ worth support package included.
Of course I'd like it to be cheaper but neither do they sell huge numbers nor is it meant for the average consumer.

It is not what Christian had in mind. But actually i couldnt care less if its badly written as long as it is "interesting" or "relevant".
