One of the leading software publishers in the Amiga market, Epic Marketing, is set to close all operations on September 30th. However, the very next day, two new companies will start in its place. Epic Interactive Entertaiment Software will focus on publsihing games for the Mac platform, but AmigaNG and Atari (!) support is also planned. Classic Amiga support will be decided upon the success of Dafel: Bloodline and Simon the Sorcerer 2 on the platform. The other company, Epic Multimedia, will publish game, infotainment and eduntainment titles for a variety of platforms, including AmigaNG. Read the full press release here.

The Epic Marketing UK web site seems no longer to be active at all. When I try to go there I just get an error message. It would appear that the UK Epic has shut down completely, although I don't think there was an announcement. Another Amiga company/dealer that has quietly left the Amiga market is the U.S. dealer Safe Harbor. They are still very much in business but not in the Amiga business anymore. I remain cautiously optimistic. I wonder if Amiga Inc. really have the wherewithall to follow through on their promises...

Its sad that Epic is "sortof" leaving the Amiga.
I'd like to thank them for the years of support .. and i'll think
Epic will be back for the AmigaOne

I think they will be back for *AMI*. (If it going to be success, it will worth it. (AmigaOne is just one machine.)

Yep. The 040-based version has been around for some time (AFAIK, never seen one though), and features things like PCI-slots as standard. The 060-version should be out this fall, and feature also USB-slots and an ATI graphics card as standard. So, it's pretty cool stuff for a 68k-machine, but one must wonder why Epic thinks there's more market for Atari software that there is for Classic Amiga stuff. Is there?
