MeterNet is another set-top-box manufacturer that will use the Amiga DE in their products. They plan to ship the first units of their new Amiga-powered SimpleBox devices in December this year with a forecasted price of $399. The initial run will produce 10000 units of the device. Read the press release here.

Well, it looks like everything is in place market wise....got the handheld broad-band devices, the set top boxes, the desktop computer...now, lets see
the products....
If they show up, and programmers start writing programs, new chips/programs, and
connectivity will start advancing....
so far it looks very promising....I do want a HDTV hand held device though,
with audio/video streaming.......and I want an advanced Desktop...
c'mon...I've waited too long...and I can't stand to go backwards to a PC kludge
or a Mac ...

Well it is really interesting to see how hardware is now being built around the OS, rather than the OS build built around the Hardware.
Anyhow, this sounds cheap and looks to be interesting, if these little hand held units, can push out a little multi-media along with the internet, then I would certainly purchase one. I would be happy with an Amiga I could fit in my pocket any day! I would feel like James Bond I would! :O)
Oh, and just to toss something in here, some time when newdoom.com is up, check out GL Doom Legacy, and see what you think, Imagine if coders would start porting stuff like that to the new OS, or even classic OS, istead of the standard Doom, ok and imagine it on a pocket sized Amiga too! :O)
I really need to pick up C

These are great news...it will earn some money for Amiga. Most
announcements so far have been about Amiga using other companies
products, like Red Hat Linux or Matrox graphics chips. Sure is nice to
see that Amiga are able to sell what they're making as well...

Since they are going to have an internet TV device, as well as home computers, I think it would be a good idea for Amiga to make connections with some of the free ISP services. Porting some of the free ISP software to the Amiga would make a dedicated box or home machine much more attractive, since right now pretty much only Windows and Macs have free ISPs (to my knowledge).

Lets keep it goin Bill M :)
I can't wait to see more and more AMIGAs hit the shelves.
It almost feels like the old days when i felt some hope
and excitement about AMIGAs future.
