If yes, go fill in this form. The developers of this Turrican clone, Unique, want 500 prospective buyers before going ahead with finishing of the game. There also a demo for download here (only 620KB).

I'm sick of this crap. Either finish the game or don't. If it's more than 90%
finished then there's no issue as far as I'm concerned...the time invested might
as well go towards actually releasing a product in spite of return. If it's less
than 50% finished then I question the intent of ever having a product ready anyway.

ACSYS...
old news..
this game should have been completed several months or years ago..
And does it support GFX cards ?
AS far as I can tell only AGA, but then again I might be wrong.

Why these somewhat negative reactions? Be glad that there are some people out
there who want to code for their platform of choice. Its not more than normal
that they want some response from the users.
And whats wrong with AGA? Lately it seems that more and more people seem to
think that if a game does not support graphiccards, its somehow less. What
about *gameplay*?
Thumbs up for the Unique team!

It is great that ppl out there want to support the amiga.
But I for one, own a ppc with cybppc and a VGA monitor, now this system is not very AGA friendly, an I know there are a lot of ppl out there with systems like mine.
Right, and AGA is very outdated, is it not ??
I would very much like to see ACSYS completed, but I won't buy it if I can not use it. would you ??

In reply to Comment 3 (Hans Wezenberg aka MazzelSiD):
Yes, gameplay is essential to any game. However, if a game doesn't
support graphic cards, it means that I will either need to have two
display devices attached, buy a monitor swithcer, or get under my desk
and switch cables every time I want to play it. Currently I have
chosen the two display devices solution, with a 15 inch monitor and
scandoubler for AGA, and 19 inch monitor for graphics card output.
Guess which one I prefer to use...
Besides, almost any graphic card will easily give you a rock
steady 800x600 truecolor resolution (probably more), while AGA looks
crap on anything better than 640x256 8bit. Higher resolutions allows
for better graphics, which means a better game experience. I'm not
saying that this is more important than gameplay. But I want both
gameplay and good visuals.

In reply to Comment 1 (JKD):
Agreed.
And what could you expect of a game that doesn't even run directly from WB?
At least not on my system (3.5/060/CGFX). I think the age of "boot with no
startup-sequence" games is long gone. What's next? Floppy-only?
Better improve their programming skills or I won't buy it for sure... :/

Well, I will admit no gfx card support is not a popular option these days, but I still think it is a pretty cool game. Firstly the Gfx are very nice, better and smoother than many Gfx card games. The gameplay is a classic blend and even includes some "Strider" wall climbing, awesome! I would definately be interested if a good soundtrack was added and the price was reasonable ($25-$30). Remember, AGA specific games should eventually still be playable on new systems like AmigaOne, then you will not need an extra monitor.

It runs fine from Workbench here (CSPPC/060, P96). It doesn't seem to
multitask, but quits back to Workbench no problem.
Fortunately I have a PicassoIV, so it works quite nicely on my
graphics card. It also looks nice, plays great, and could end
up being a Turrican 2 beater. I'd definitely buy it; the survey
mentions a price of about 32 euro, which is fine.

Turrican 2 beater?!?! This is a blasphemy!
Its playability is FAR behind T2's, and so are the graphics (even being AGA).

I agree.. I'm not gonna heave my TV around the place just so I can play a game.. no matter how good it is!
Its not even massively difficult to program for graphics cards IMO.. this is a bit of laziness on their
behalf. With more and more migs becoming gfx card based, they're going to be losing a big chunk of potential
sales I think.

As a graphic card user, I too dislike programs that need AGA display.
But unfortunately AGA is much better than most graphic cards as far as 2D scrollings and hardware sprites are concerned..
