Maximum PC report the AmigaOne : Comment 2 of 6 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Frans van Egmond on 24-Oct-2000 22:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 1 (Henrik Mikael Kristensen): Poorly researched, yes... But wouldn't it be great if PC users stay misinformed
until we smack them over the head with the new stuff, and totally make their jaws drop? |

Posted by Anonymous on 24-Oct-2000 22:00 GMT | Amiga will _not_ win just because it is good or better! They can
only win if they are taken seriously by mass media.
So I do not feel happy about YAPRAs... |

Posted by XDelusion on 24-Oct-2000 22:00 GMT | Pretty decent article, though they should have stated,"unlike other OS's" Amiga is not restricted to PPC or X86, nor will apps have to be written to be CPU specific. |

While this article did contain a number of common errors, I think it is fair to see that Amiga's PR, er... needs work. The only way we're going to see good articles get written is if there is good source material...
Its good to see coverage in the mainstream media, and its understandable that there are a few mistakes, but I wish we would see properly planned press releases backed up by a professional looking site. I know Amiga don't want to go for that whole 'corporate' image, but if its going to be 'just another games machine', count me out... we all know by now that good products don't sell, advertising does.
BTW, how long has it been since Amiga said there was a 'new site design' in the works?
Sorry, just a bit of a rant... I wish they'd sort this stuff out tho... |

Maximum PC report the AmigaOne : Comment 6 of 6 | ANN.lu |
Posted by James Carroll on 25-Oct-2000 22:00 GMT | The article failed to mention anything important, like the 68k emulation for classic amiga software, or the virtual processor in the AmigaDE. This article looked like filler just to add substance to their news pages. This is the first recent amiga article thats really let me down.. but oh well. |
