Why only for Morphos ?
Too much context switches with Warpos or PowerUp ?

In reply to Comment 2 (blob rana):
Yep:)
--Copied for mui 3.9 readme--
That it`s available only for MorphOS for now does *NOT* mean that it won`t
be available for 68k users when it`s fully complete.
We thought it`s an important product for MorphOS with a real benefit for
its users which justifies a prerelease.
Don`t ask us or the MUI author for the final release date for 68k or PPC.

I really doubt that Stefan Stuntz is still developing it (3 years
without updates, y'know). It is more likely that he kindly
donated the sources for the MorphOS team do the port... :/

In reply to Comment 4 (CCRider):
It's not a port...It has MANY new features including transparency,
improved prefs editor and many other bits&bobs. If it was a port
it would be just mui 3.8 running under ppc which isn't the case.

In reply to Comment 6 (Chris Tsaldaris):
No Chris this is not possible..it would be slower than even mui
3.8... mui4 will be available for 68k too. Mui for warpos would
be very slow due to the contex switches... Contex switch from
68k to ppc to make it calculate the object, another one for the
object attributes and another ppc to 68k for the display...

In reply to Comment 8 (Alkis Tsapanidis):
The speed thing is a minor concern....it would crash your system
at once because it`s impossible to share OS asynchron accessed
structures between the 2 cpus.
That`s the reason there are no PPC system extensions for PowerUp
or WarpUp which use shared OS/application structures.
I thought that would have been clear now for 3-4 years...but well

Then I guess that if AmigaOS will run on the PPC processor, which is begining to look very real now, then there will also be a PPC port for AmigaOS 4. Which will probably be the version number given to Amiga OS.
I hope that the 68k version doesn't take long anymore to be released. But I wonder who is doing the new version. Is it still Stefan Stuntz? And why does the author keep so quiet?

In reply to Comment 10 (Remco Komduur):
Who makes you think there will be an Amiga 4.0 with a
native AmigaOS enviroment from the official copyright holder ?
Such version is here now with MorphOS...sure it`s not official
blessed by Amiga Inc but if that`s your only concern you only
care for the name and not for the product.
