Checkout.com have a quite upbeat, though slightly misleading article about the Amiga.

No too good is it?
This isn't the first poor article and it won't be the last. People outside the Amiga communtity just think that this is just people souping up A500s or something. Amiga Inc. really need to set the record straight NOW. Not once in that article was there any mention of VP. You could argue that it was just poorly researched, but there have been so many "poorly researched" articles since January, that soon the damage will be unrepairable.
The only good articles I've seen are from Amiga sites or Die hard amiga journalists. I've seen the linux demo, and it is amazing. The world needs to see this, it is the modern day equivilent of the Boing! Demo. Showing it behind closed doors and to a small group of Amiga enthusiasts in Oz is not good enough to relaunch the platform.
Also I beleive that the current path that Amiga have chosen to launch the platform has added to the confusion. Until quite recently (and in some respects still now) even Amiga people didn't really know much about the Eyetech solution. Also partnering small companies (no offence Eyetech or Bplan) does not instill confidence in the rest of the computer industry.

This article points at the center of peoples computer thought processes. Reviewer after reviewer as I read them thinks hardware.
They are not seeing the "big picture" of the convergence of ALL mainstream computers to run the same software!
This is a paradigm shift and reviewers minds are not wrapping around this concept at all. This is where PR work needs to be done.

This article sucked!!! Started great, but ended in a big flop!! They seemed to leave on a negetive stance and quickly too. They must have been bored towards the end. They should go to the IBM site and see how a well researched article is written. I rate this article a big fat F!!!

Hmmm...
The article starts off by the columnist talking about how he bought every Amiga there was, including something designated "1500". Perhaps he meant the A1200? If so, this may have been a typographical error or another telltale example of a journalist not doing their homework. Sigh...

God, yet another B$ article! I agree.. Amiga Inc need to do something about it *really* soon!
And btw.. the A1500 does exist.. its just an A2000, with a few differences.

The A1500 Unit, was an Amiga2000 with 2 Floppy drives, Euro only, no other distinction,
the 2500 was an a2000 with the 68020 processor, all were available with the HD option.

Who cares? To be honest, I'd never heard of this "games" site before
anyway! I mean if IBM, thats I B M (!!!) are actually doing really
good articles on the AmigaDE, then who really cares what these suckers
say :o)
I may be a fool, I may have pinned my hopes on previous incarnations
of Amiga, but this time it is really happening!

IBM is not the one doing the articles. IBM is just hosting the articles in the Linux section of their developerWorks web site. Daniel Robbins, President/CEO @ Gentoo Technologies, Inc., is who wrote the articles. Read the "About the Author" section at the bottom of the articles to learn more.
Misinformation like the above sounds good, but really hurts in the long run. Amiga has done too much of it in the past (both current owners and previous owners). Let’s try to sell the new system using the truth not twisted half truths.

My "misinformation" on a message board on an Amiga news site is
slightly (and I use this word in the strongest sarcastic sense) less
damaging than all the news articles I've recently seen on other web
sites saying that "Amiga is back and basing their next computer on
PowerPC etc..." from sites like maccentral.
Anyway, even if they are only "hosting" the site, it's still
impressive to get a decent article from outside the community. Lighten
up, dude!
(Plus I had a few beers before posting the previous comment ;o)
