"Distributed BASIC is a BASIC interpreter released in form of a shared library. It is designed to be used by developers to add scripting capabilities to their software. Once loaded by an application, a BASIC scripting library will be available in the background, ready to execute BASIC programs. Distributed Basic was developed to provide clean and clear interfaces around it. It is easy to embed the language into an application and use it as a macro language like Rexx. This project aims at providing an alternative to Rexx as scripting language while being compatible with Rexx on the communication level." There's a full online documentation here.

Basic is the most easy to use and the most easy to learn language out there. It's great for scripting!

This is just an extension of GoldED's move towards system independence - the subtext is ARexxAmiga, and I don't think I am awfully perspicacious in thinking that Dietmar plans to release GoldED for other platforms.
Surprised no-one else has commented on this; or am I not as smart as I think I am?
