The ill-fated Alive Mediasoft are back, under the name Alive World. On their website they are selling Mac games, DVDs and, funnily enough, R'n'B music. In addition, MacWorld claim in their news item that "the company plans to ship a CD compilation of games called Amiga 4 Mac. It will be a collection of classic Amiga games and an Amiga OS emulator."

For which I am sure, they will obtain, licenses and rights to publish
software and ROM images on to a cd rom.
(If they are planning to include rom images that is)
As to the software, well, I shall watch with interest.

They stolen money from Amiga users and developer, then they asked money for a subscription to their "magazine" (ahah), now they're trying to steal people's money selling Mac and Dvd stuff...
When someone will kick's Steven Flowers and his (or her? I suspect he's gay) wife?
We're still waiting our $300 from them... and we'll never receive it I suppose :(

If you are going to make criticisms keep them to the facts only. Making
slanderous remarks can get you sued and get this list removed.

How do yopu know that Alive MediasoftAlive World?
Apart from the fact that part of the name is the same
and they are based on UK, I do not see any relation
to assure that both companies were/are/will be the
same.

Well, Alive can go **** themselves, I'll never order anything else from them as long as I live, no matter what they call themselves. They screwed me twice, and I suppose I'll never see the money ever again. Now, you can tell me to take them to court or whatever, but eventually that would cost me more than what Alive owes me. Advice: Do not, I repeat DO NOT trust them! Do not order anything from them! You'll only regret it.

court. Then the fee comes out of any money that Alive have to pay up.

A kinda funny U-turn this, as I seem to recall that in a previous
incarnation, the plan was to sell classic Mac games, with a "runtime",
or rather "bare bones" copy of Shapeshifter...:7

Hmmm. Perhaps it's time to give Alive a break now. I hate to say it but there are a million worse gangsters in the 'real' company world. Don't want to name anyone obviously but the big companies sew up the markets. If Alive would have been able to get into the Amiga market when small companies couldn't then maybe they would have had the money to pay all the developers. So the real criminals? Freemasons and people like that. It's a thought anyway :)

Disgusted to see these con artists back on the scene again. They still
owe me £75 for undelievered goods. I would encourage everyone else
they owe money to tell them where to stick Alive World (a venture set
up with the money of people they ripped off while in the Amiga
market). I also hope people will start talking to Trading Standards UK
about these people again, I am.

Why are you mentioning the trading standards to me? Nobody has ever reported CS&E to the trading standards because we haven't heard from them. Having reported Alive Mediasoft to the trading standards (for their own good - although it wasn't any use) I was informed it was their policy to take up any complaints with the company directly. Plus none of our customers actually complained about us on the mailing list, rather people like Mikey C and that bloke from Amibench who (and I won't insult them and get into a slanging match again) have already had disagreements with me. Mikey C for example had already had a go at us several times for having a name similar to Crystal Software when in truth they licensed *our* name and were allowed to put a line stating they were associated to Crystal Software and Electronics. It very much irked me at the time but what can you do. When people like this then also have a go at me for something I already apologised about. Well it's annoying to say the least.
I think you are trying to have a go at me because you know it is in my character to react and you think it is quite amusing to see a businessman forced into personal comments. You are most probably under 18 years of age since you come across as very immature. Get into the real world and grow up. The fact I know this will no doubt annoy you and make you even more of an angry young man.
I've had to deal with the likes of Steven Flowers and you'll have to try a lot better if you're going to get past me.

Alive World have been warned that if the Amiga4Mac CD contains ANY of the games they have illegally published/sold before (Such as the Amberstar/Ambermoon CD) then they will face legal action.
Letters were also forwarded to ELSPA, and the publication right holders.

I think people should be alert if they are dealing with Alive. I can't say "do not trust them", cause I don't have any experience dealing with them myself. But what I've heard... so many critical comments, that some of them has to contain a bit truth in them as well (just logical, or is it just me ?).

No. Mark prints his e-mail address on the Amibench website. While he is seemingly happy to give commercial advertising to one Amiga magazine (Amiga Active) he wrote a rude e-mail to me accusing me of spam when I sent a press release to him. Bearing in mind this apparent contradiction and connections to Amiga Active, a publication being already being sued by my company, I reported it to the trading standards.

Well who ever you are you are not part of the AmiBench Group because I only speak offically for AmiBench.

Right, I do print my address on AmiBench so people can contact me. I dont state anywhere that I want my email addess being added to a mailing list of any kind.
I have sent no one a "rude" email. Its interesting to note that you speak on David Connollys behalf buy using such words as (I quote here "he wrote a rude e-mail to me accusing me of spam when I sent a press release" and you have "rude" email from me. I would be very interested to see this "rude" email seeing as I am public relations for AmiBench - I take this as a very serious issue.
We give no commercial advertising to Amiga Companies. Oddly Most Amiga Companies refuse to sponsor us because we take trade away from them (by being in the second hand classifieds market).

We have only made advertising contacts with third party services such as Chris Kemp does with ANN (we use different companies that help pay server costs ans so on). Its my right to do as I wish on *my* site. I dont see anyone threatening to take Chris to court because he has "Commercial adverts" on his site.

Trading Standards have little time for petty squables like this. They target their resources on the real cowboys of industry.
So, Mr Connolly - do everyone a favour. Get on with running your business and let Mark and the rest of the Amibench
team get on with running their site. By making such threats you do nothing but harm to this fragile community.
