BPlan announce specs of their Pegasos PPC motherboard. They write: "By useing a modular system design, the mainboard could be easily user upgraded to the actual demands. With todays standard interfaces allready designed onto the PEGASOS mainboard, the users will be able to easily connect standard components (like harddrives or CD Roms) and a wide range of highend devices such as digital video cameras to the system. While PEGASOS itself is widely scaleable to the users needs, it's a easy task for retailers or OEMs to configure the system for there demands. By hiting the best price/performance point for the choiced configuration, systems starting with one CPU (at entrylevel) up to multi PPC G4 based cluster computers could be build useing the same hardware." Read the full specs here.

Sounds nice if they can deliver and keep the price at a competitive level.
I guess this MB will work with both AmigaDE and PPC linux so if AmigaDE should not meet our expectations (I think it will) we could still use it for Linux PPC.
If Bplan will be able to deliver this board (soon as DE is finished)at a decent price I would be positively supriced but we can always hope...
Anyone knows when it will ship????

I'll buy one of these boards if it runs MorphOS.. that is unless someone wants to send me a CyberPPC board free ;)

I wonder if it would be possible to use processormodules with processors from other processorfamilies, like x86/Athlon and others ...?

As long as the board don't cost $800.00 without a cpu, and doesn't require a CyberstormPPC and proprietary software just to use it. If it does, I'll be buying a Pentium 4 board and CPU.

I find it a little disconcerting that they managed to spell the name of their own company as 'pblan'

LOL...It sounds very impressive, but how about a picture of the motherboard?

In reply to Comment 6 (Kojak):
To properly photograph vapor, a special mirror and smoke are necessary.
Maybe in the springtime, the vapor will have dissipated, revealing some
exciting new hardware...

In reply to Comment 7 (Franklin Cheney):
We have nearly finished our ATX dual-processor PPC motherboard. Specs are as follows:
Dual G3/G4 processor support
Northbridge (MCH) supports:
DDR SDRAM (100 and 133MHz)
4x AGPPro
32 bit PCI (6 slots)
Dedicated 128 bit bus to each processor (as opposed to a 1 bit processor select line)
There is also a 66MHz Northbridge to Southbridge dedicated 32 bit bus, as opposed to putting the southbridge as a PCI device on the 33MHz PCI bus. This allows great ATA100 HD performance.
Southbridge provides support for the following:
ATA100
4x USB 1.1 ports (2x USB1.1 controllers for 30mbps total bandwidth
2x serial
1x parallel
2x PS/2 (mouse/keyboard)
Built-in hardware audio (can't be used for AmigaDE as it isn't EMU10k compliant)
Floppy disk drive, etc.
AMR slot (we will not provide for this on the motherboard)
IRDA
10/100 Ethernet or HomePNA Networking
The southbridge is a generic southbridge from the ALI Magik AMD x86 chipset. The northbridge is a custom designed solution fabbed at 0.18microns at TMSC.

Anyone can write good looking specs.
