My computer is in semi-working state again - the retailer I bought it from changed the mainboard, the processor and the RAM. The only problem that seems to remain right now is that my "Network and Dial-up Connections" are empty when they shouldn't, but that's just a minor issue. After seven hours of school, plus four hours of work today, all I'm planning to do is sleep, before hopefully getting back to regular updates tomorrow. What looks like a spider from a dialup in France sent over nine-thousand requests to ann.lu yesterday and today, inflating my bandwith to some extent, but not affecting the service, as far as I could tell.

I have not tried it but understand that you can add a
deny from rogue.domain.fr
to your .htaccess file |
