Apex Designs have posted
the final status
report on Payback. The game
has now gone gold and should be ready to go on sale in 2 weeks, with
a playable demo being released at the same time. The report gives
details of the latest features to be added to the game (which include
an intro animation and a map editor) as well as revealing the box
design and some of the advertising
campaign.

Posted by Daniel Allsopp on 31-Jan-2001 23:00 GMT | I'd be quite interested in buying this game, but only if it doesn't use RTG Master. Can anyone clarify that the game doesn't use RTGMaster? |

Posted by m0ns00n on 31-Jan-2001 23:00 GMT | I have a really bad experience with RTGMaster, but it won't stop me. RTGMaster apps/games/demos seem to crash all the time on my system. If I see a game using it, I often just remove it from HD. But perhaps I have to get a new version? |

Posted by m0ns00n on 31-Jan-2001 23:00 GMT | I just installed a newer version of rtgmaster, so I guess the old wrongs has been set right. An update has been uploaded to the aminet just before the release I downloaded now, which tells about a fatal bug... |

Maybe try a different version of RTGmaster? |

Posted by SimplePPC on 31-Jan-2001 23:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 8 (Daniel Allsopp): Humm, the biggest problem i have/had with RTGmaster is when one switches from CGX to P96 or the other way
around. You should reinstall RTGMaster in that case. Also Bppcfix helps and always DL
the latest version :) |

Posted by Olivier Fabre on 03-Feb-2001 23:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 12 (James Daniels): Ah ! I'm *really* glad Payback doesn't use RTGMaster.
I've had a lot of problems with it. Took me more than one year to get Napalm to work.
Ok, not all of these were rtgmaster's fault.. but it left me with a bad feeling ;-}
Now that the lastest rtgmaster is correctly installed on my system, the last bug that really... bugs me,
is that when I switch screens rtgmaster programs continue to draw into the Workbench screen !! :-( |
