According to this message, a forwarded message by Gary Peake, Amiga Inc. are looking for content, and more specifically, for 5k-10k cell phone games and 400k-500k PDA games. They have "two potential companies looking to [them] for content", and they want "a demo to show either of these gents". Update: Randy Hughes posted this comment that says: those creating content will obviously be compensated for their contributions in the form of licensing agreements.

Hmmm... Hardly seems very professional though, does it?

I guess, being afraid of failing, like so many times before, and being a small company Amiga can't afford to be "professional". The nice thing though is that they are very close to the remaining Amiga community. And instead of complaining why not contribute with a game? Maybe you'll only get a t-shirt or sidegrade, but you get cred, honour and who knwos what the future may bring...

Not really, that has been there strategy since they've owned the company, expecting amiga users to turn their (uninteresting platform) into something viable for their own personal financial benefit. If they are hurting for money now they certainly aren't going to have enough to effectively get a product to the marketplace in the future with any reasonable measure of success, but I agree it does look tacky to say the least.

Considering that they specificly said that they bought Amiga for the people, this seems only logical to me. When "profesional" means doing things the storrid, old fashion way, that doesn't tap into the resources available than being as unprofesional as possible seems to be the best way.
A company that involves the users it serves seems like a blessing. Hopefull this is a good sign. I wish I could programme so I could help.

Well, don't forget that little company that started with a shareware game... I think that was called Wolfstein 3D :)
Perhaps this could be a nice showcase for your programming skills, beyond initial financial reward.
Good luck to everyone!

This is just slightly off topic (maybe) - but along the lines of PDA's - I'm wondering if the new Amiga OS will run on a Compaq Ipaq. I've got one - its cool - it will even run Linux. Its based on the ARM processor (233 mhz).
