But that could change if some budding amiga programmer can work his magic... ?? The latest issue of PC-Format "March" has the full source code to this great looking game on there cover CD It seems they have been running some tutorials in programming in C++ and they where using Xenon 2000 on a month to month basis in getting folks into it. I myself don't program so havent been able to get it running on my PC because it needs to be compiled and i ain't got a clue.

If you have access to a PC and like me .. have no knowledge in the art of programming, then get there next issue as it will include the full game all ready to run.

This would be great to see on Amiga..it's where it belongs :-)

Well, we've seen Doom, Descent, Heretic and all those nicely compiled for Amiga, let's hope someone can do it with Xenon 2000 soon also, I'd love to see it.

Was the source in C/C++ ? Does anybody program assembler for windos nowadays?

Xenon was a great game. I wasted many hours on playing it, and still have it, though I havent played it for a long time. It was a really tough game, but played differently than anything else out there at the time. I don't think I have ever seen a game before or since that allowed you to land your craft, drive around and then take off flying again when the going gets tough...I would love to see the sequel.

Sounds like you are describing Xenon1. There was a sequel for Xenon1 one on the Amiga, Xenon2!! I don't know if Xenon1 was made by the bitmap bros, but Xenon2 definately was. Xenon2 makes Xenon1 look crappy! Xenon2 even holds it's weight against todays games IMO.

Yeah, Xenon 1 was abit lame, i think it was also made by the Bitmap Brothers but a very very long time ago, even appeared on the C-64 also.

Xenon 2 on the other hand was in a league of its own way back when it arrived for the Amiga, It also i think was the first game to feature a song by a real group "Bomb The Bass" that was in the charts. The bitmaps done that again with that old platformer classic Magic Pockets, the female singer i can't remember who atm..good thing :-)
Seems all there games had pretty good title songs with vocals featuring alot, remember Gods?

If anyone did manage to get the source compiled from the PC-Format cover CD, is it any good? sure looks nice from the screenshots :-)
I await the next issue...

I program in assembly for windows. Find it easier than C.

I don't like Xenon 2. I like Xenon 1 much more (but it's difficult)... I prefer Xenon 1 musics too, but they are too short.. Xenon 2 music, "Assault from precint 13" (by John Carpenter) remix by Bomb The Bass, is great too, though ;)
