It looks like Amiga.org is down again. It is the same error we had before concerning the "MySQL Connection Failed". I'am sure Wayne will fix this later in the day. Meanwhile, it was fixed, and here's their explanation.

They have had a lot of problems since moving over to their new look.
The phrase, "if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it" comes to mind.
Good Luck Wayne and Co. |

Posted by Solar (BAUD) on 15-Mar-2001 23:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 2 (Mikey C): Yeah, "never touch a running system". Problem is, people demand new features... in my company, those people are the customers. I´d daresay, at amiga.org it´s Wayne himself. Result is the same. ;-)
Hey, Wayne: Sorry I don´t have a webcam here to inspire you. ;-)
(Stop thinking dirty! :-) In the past, I found two very obscure bugs in my code after staring frustrated at the WayneCam for a couple of minutes. ;-) |

Amiga.org down again : Comment 4 of 8 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Kent Seaton on 15-Mar-2001 23:00 GMT | The MySQL database being down was not a part of a problem with the new site engine, layout, or design. A similar situation happened about a week back which was corrected just the same. There wasn't anything wrong with the site except for the server side access to the database which is beyond the control of the staff at Amiga.org. I apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. |

Amiga.org down again : Comment 7 of 8 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Christophe Decanini on 15-Mar-2001 23:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 5 (Hagge): Amiga.org is a major Amiga site.
It is better to say that this is a problem that should be fixed quick as we know it already happened instead of having someone post in the unmoderated section "Amiga.org down: Amiga.org dead".
There are some comments and not so bad rating so even if not interesting for everyone it is for some people.
I'am OK we should better focus on great Amiga news but there won't be many until St louis.
Regards, Christophe. |

As effective as the idea may be, the outage was not intended. We have taken this situation up with the server provider to look into this further. |
