In a kind of tradition, I just thought I'd mention that Slashdot mentions the Amiga/Sharp deal.

And in tradition of slashdotters they keep endlessly going on and on with: "Get over it, it's dead", "Not another April fools joke", "This is vapor, it doesn't exist", "Why are you building another A500?", "Don't misuse a dead name", etc... :-(

Its sometimes hard to take this seriously after all this time. Some skepticism should be expected.
Here's some facts - its been 7 years since a *new* amiga has been built (and no I don't count all those A1200 clones in AT/ATX cases). And then theres the fact that every company that has bought the Amiga keeps anouncing comebacks - heck its even the name of an Amiga convention (was it called Comeback 2000?)
No - I'm not saying this is a bad deal (in fact its good!). Its just that Amiga Inc. (and the various companies associated with it - in a sense guilt by association) has cried wolf (or in this case "comeback") one to many times.

I agree totally. It still wouldn't do any harm for some people to do some simple research before they start criticism/slagging/downright abuse. The worst ones for me have to be "I used to love my A500, but I don't see how there's a place for it in today's market", or "Why does linux need another JVM?".
*sigh*
I guess we're not totally free of that mentality either though, just read comments on the previous few days news items to see fine examples of people spouting crap before they've researched a paragraph.
