Mark Olsen, after discovering that his "machine is mailbombing Juergen Haage" initially suspected it to be coming "from the MorphOS team", but later discovered "that the newly uploaded StackAttack is a trojan responsible for this". Update: Georg Steger, original author of StackAttack (which comes with source) distances himself from this hack.

After further investigations, it seems that the newly uploaded StackAttack is a trojan responsible for this. The URL has been updated.

Why would someone want to mailbomb haage?

Sad...
However, I don't think you can say that this is what the whole (whatever is left of the) community has become... I think it accounts for just a small group of frustrated individuals. Its very sad that they do their complaining by illegally using other people's computers...Instead of writing trojans they'd be better of spending their time learning to spell and improving their debating skills instead of blurting out personal attacks on someone.

Altough i'm probably the last one that Ralp would expect, i have to say that
it's not build into MorphOS thus Morphos cannot be blaimed for anything. It's a
trojan in stack attack and the only one responsable is the oen who did that TROJAN,
not mr Ralph Shmidt neither MorphOS team.
Altough it would be a good thing if mr Shmidt condemned such action in public.

I think it's an annoyance and a waste of time to write any trojan, virus,
worm and so on. We have nothing to do with this...

Um nice. The insults included are actually laughable, although abuse is never funny.
I'm sure (before we get the usual nutters) that this is nothing to do with MorphOS and is either someone trying to make morphOS look bad, too cowardly to slag h&P themselves or someone who wishes to prolong the flame war.
It's good to see the amiga community behaving like adults.

On a related note... FBlit version 3.84 that's just been uploaded to Aminet
creates two processes
zakahackandpatch
I've never seen these on previous versions before so I'm guessing it's a backdoor
similar to Stackattack - particularly as they've both been released on the
same day.

In all my time of knowing Ralph Schimdt - I have only known him to comdemn any such activity. Although Ralph has`nt said very much, he is against such activities, anything like hacking/cracking/mail bombing or other activities is totally against the things Ralph would agree with.
I believe in "ethic hacking" - it has a place, if only for public awareness of security issues.

I am the original author of StackAttack and want to
make clear that I have nothing to do with this new
StackAttack archive that appeared on Aminet :-((
I don't know this John Miller. The readme and guide
in there still show my old email address, which is
not valid anymore since more than 2 or 3 years. Also
the source has disappeared, which I included always
(funnily the Source.info is still there).
And PS: if it had really been me, it would have
talked about *AROS*.

**** Warning ****
That's not the end of this trouble either it seems, FBlit 3.84 ( Also Aminet )
also exibits grave suspicions, installing 2 tasks called zakahackandpatch and
meddling with the HD, after stupidly installing it.
there is *no* update from S. Brookes at http://www.tpec.u-net.com where he
always releases first before uploading to aminet.
afaik, no virus checker can pick these *£%"£%$% up yet.

I remember some PC fanatic saying that Amiga is dead because there is not any more viruses/trojans for it... so, now we should be happy because we comply PC standards?
Anyway, I feel very sad about this kind of happenings.
Perhaps it is just one fanatic/sick MorphOS advocate trying to get attention, or perhaps just a sick person, hopefully he gets caught.

Sorry for the mess with including the MorphOS team in it. Too fast conclusions. My apologies to them.
I've made a small killer tool for this thing, it's at http://fod.adsl.dk/~bigfoot/trojan.html, which also has older versions of affected programs.

If those are the pictures that I read about on the amigaone list, then you will be very correct by using the words "f\/ck" and "sh/7" (altered 'cos I don't want to get the sack at work!)
Sad innit. Whatever the state of the Amiga market with regards to MorphOS, AROS and AmigaOS4, no one from any camp would want this attack on their competitors.

I'm puzzled at how quick some people can be at accusing respectable developpers, just because they saw their name in an anonymous bombing mail.
Do you *really* believe that Ralph Schmidt would be dumb enough to put the name of its team in such a lame trojan ? This is really insulting. The Amiga Community has not evolved into a bunch of pitiful hackers, it has evolved into a bunch of clueless accusers.

Originally suspected it was the fault of the MorphOS team?
For feck sake.
I just LOVE the way some people let their prejudices blind them to the extent that they assume that because they have a trojan process spamming H&P, it must be caused by MorphOS.
THINK next time before flimging around wild accusations, for goodness sake!
(Just imagine the comments if the situation were reversed - i.e. the trojan was flaming Ralph via EMail and someone said "oh, I assume that's the H&P team causing it then", for example.)
*sigh*

No FBlit 3.84 has nothing to do with its author (I'm a betatester)
but the bad thing is that it seems a Virus-wave: all these programs,
scanned with VZII report a strange 4EF9 Linker in them and they are:
BlazeWCP, FBlit, StackAttack, Safe, CheckX. Stupid lamerz virus-makers...

What more do you want for fecks sake? Blood?
At first I thought it was an anti-morphos guy trying to stir it, but
after reading some of the off the off the handle comments from some
pro-morphos nutters, I'm begining to change my mind.
Some people really shouldn't be let near a live internet connection.

As for the blood of the guy who did it I'm sure that several people
will let you have some of it once they're done with him, as long as
they get to keep his head on a stick.

Here's 10 bucks, bring me the head of the lamer responsible for the pathetic hack.
Trojans and backdoors like these make me sick. Back in the early days of the Amiga, you could boot your system with some of the coolest viruses ever found. For anyone who remembers:
"Something wonderful has happened... Your Amiga... is ALIVE!"
These piddley little h4ck3r fVcks don't know the first bit about coding and cracking. Pathetic, nothing more.

I looked for those JPGs, file not found.
What are people still wasting their time with MorphOS and AROS? They are both jokes, operating systems for lamers.
