The display options moved to the left of the window and access to older articles is once again in the status bar at the top. If your browser supports CSS and DHTML, you can now hide the vertical navigation bars. This does not require any cookies or bookmarks, just a click every time you need it. As for display options, you can now chose whether you want to see 10, 25 or 50 news items at a time. There's also a third viewing style. These two new features can be set permanently by changing an option and bookmarking the resulting page. As always, please let me know of any ideas or suggestions you might have. I'd be particularly interested in how these new features render on "lesser" browsers - I tested on v6 versions of MSIE and Netscape.

The hide show things work great on MSIE5.5, but for some reason the hand pointer remains a text selection pointer over the Show | Hide option. Probably just my MS software being c*ap again!

If we knew what we were doing, we wouldn't call it research

It's more a question of HTML tags used, since I'm not really using a link, but rather just an OnClick effect.

Having the display options on the left is messy, I prefered it back
when there was no left column at all.
Good to see that the article range selector links are back along the
top where they belong :-)

I think that the Display options on the left is a bad idea : most of the column is useless, it wastes space. At least, would be nice if one could remove it without a CSS/DHTML capable browser (which is what most people interested in Amiga news have, I suppose).
And pleaaaaaaaaase add an option to change the background color ! Changing it to dark grey or something like that.. This white hurts (me).

In reply to Comment 3 (Budda):
Yes, please delete the left column. Put the display options to the right.
I think the main news column is way to narrow and I have my browser window
800 pixels wide. It looks awful in a 640 pixels wide window.

Please move the display opitions over to right side. I find it rather annoying to have
a blank strip on the left side of browser window, I am not sure what the hide and show
links above display opitions are for they do nothing in aweb3.4. a left column of 12 mm
would be fine on the left side.
I agree that no left column was better looking.

Hi, Christian I just noticed that you wrote the
program "MemDiff". I use it a lot for testing for
memory leaks etc, Thanks. By the way the site looks
great on AWeb.

the display number of articles does not save in aweb v3,4
dont know if this is know or not but i have to caange it
and click on change button to reload again so theres no
point to changing it in the end as i have to do it repeatedly.

In reply to Comment 10 (Martin):
Change it to what you want, copy the link to your bookmarks, viola. That's all there is to it on changing it just once.
