Via amiga.org and Keep It Retro: "Amidemos is a collection of Amiga demos and intros, captured from an Amiga and uploaded to the web as DivX encoded videos." [ Obviously, this is only useful for people with fast machines and lots of bandwidth, but the server is very fast and after a minute or two (at 105K/sec for me) you can watch and listen to the classis AmigaDOS demo, as well as many other scene classics, without ever bothering about emulators. :) - CK ]

How bloody useless! Why go to so much trouble when you could just run it on your Amiga?

For thoose who haven't got their Amiga anymore this is great, even though the quality is not perfect. Offcourse a demo taking up 4 - 35 MB is bloat but since it's the only way for lots off people to watch these classics again it might be great for some people.

Well, I cant run them on my amiga. It is too well equiped for todays demos. gfx card, music card - all the stuff that c0d3rs likes so much. Fortunally I was able to watch them on my pc...

well, i think its a great idea - my amiga is long beyond able to run demos
however - i can watch these DivX's with the OpenDivX codec for windows, but the amiga version of OpenDivX says this is an unrecognised codec
has anyone got these to run on an amiga yet?

"all the stuff c0d3rs like so much" was intended as a facetious remark, I'm sure.

If they haven't got their Amiga anymore, doesn't that simply mean that they don't want to watch Amiga demos any more?

In a word: No. My A1200 doesn't work anymore and anyway is so souped-up that most demos won't run. That's why I love the page.
