In reply to Comment 1 (Vincent Perkins):
I think adding a couple of "presumably" and "i believe" to
your page wouldn`t hurt at all. Sometimes you state things
rather boldly and people might get a false impression that
your information is accurate, which is not always the case.
For example, AmigaOne4000 may not appear at all, SiN might
come out even before AmigaOS 4.2, "Eyetech" and "Descent"
are spelled like that, not "Eyetec" and "Decent", and so on.
Your "exclusive early designs" of OS4.0 GUI almost made me
cry, and my linux and pc friends nearly died laughing. So
PLEASE take some time to add some text explaining that this
is only an amateur page and it reflects your own (very) rough
estimates ONLY.
Your strongest point is AmigaOne polls, maybe you`d better
concentrate on them instead of making amateur gfx and spreading
info without proper disclaimers. Sorry if i seem rude, i didn`t
mean to offend you in any way, but what Amiga needs now is
professionalism in every aspect. BTW English is not my native
language, and may be i did say something in an unappropriate
manner - sorry if this is the case.
Regards,
Andrew
PS The polls are great indeed. Please keep up the good work.

In reply to Comment 2 (Andrew Galinski):
I Think an AmigaOne4000 wouldn't be such a good idea anyway. You can get an a1200 for almost no money nowadays, while a4000's still cost quite some money. And most people who have a4000's have them hugely expanded, expansions which would become useless once the amigaOne would be used.
My idea is it would be better for every a4000 owner to buy a tower and an AOne1200 with a second hand a1200 next to their a4000.

In reply to Comment 3 (Justin):
Just me, I'd rather see the AOne4000 board than have to bother purchasing yet another computer for my work area. I already have five now as it is and I've already ran out of room about one year ago. One more computer system is just not going to cut it. The pride and joy of all the systems that I have is the 4000. If it comes down to it though, I'd sell my 4000 to "step-up" to the AOne1200 system, but I'd sooner wait for the paraglide to be released. I'm sure there are other 4000 users that feel similar to this.

Thanks for the comment but the main reason i started AmigaNg was because there was nothing else like it on the web that i could find. There still isn't! I know my spelling are bad and i know that the WebPages design/graphics are not that good but the reason is, I’ve never been good at spelling, but that wasn’t going to stop me from making a WebPages. Yes it is amateur and I’m always trying to improve it! But do you see any one else trying to make a page that has as much information like mine? The simple answer to you is if you don’t like the site then don’t use it!
PS: I have never claimed its an official Amiga site!
PPS: I don’t see how I could run a site just on polls?
Any way thanks for the comments I will try and do my best to improve the site over the next few weeks and that the best I can do.

Hi Vincent,
I want to thank you for your efforts to try and make sense out of all the confusing information about what Amiga Inc. is doing etc.
This is a ****REAL**** need that has not been filled until now - Good Idea!! 8-)
I also believe most of Andrew Galinski’s comments are very good and helpful. You
should consider using some of them IMHO.
I would like to “bookmark" you site and check back periodically to see any adjustments and/or updates that you find. This could be a real time saver for the Amiga community!
Thanks again!
Old User
PS. My spelling could be a lot better too! ;-) I use my spell checker a lot!!

In reply to Comment 4 (Kent Seaton):
But you can buy "zico spec" HW from Elbox, it'll run Amiga SW just as well as the AmigaOne4000 would do.
And if you only need PCI cards, get the prometheus for your A4k because it is AVAILABLE NOW.
I think they said that prometheus will get AmigaOS4.x compliance someday, though. (but that's not official by AmigaInc, unless Prometheus=MediatorZ3)
I thought it might be possible for only one busboard to survive in Amigaland, but what the h*ll, we have G-Rex, Mediator1200, Prometheus and soon AmigaOne1200, MediatorZIV, MediatorA4k, MediatorZ3, Boxer(ehm...), ... SCARY !!!

Vincent;
You are right when you say the site is unique for what it serves, but I too would urge you to take Andrew's comments into consideration. It is great that someone wants to complie this information, but most of what you have posted is guesses, wild speculation and sometimes just wrong. You may not claim to be official or anything, but the wholle site has a tone to it impling that everything is based off of definitive statements made somewhere. This at best can be very dissapointing, and at worse makes the wholle platform look very bad.
I always appreciate someone who puts lots of work into keeping us Amiga users informed, but it greatly reduces the usefullness of such information when it is being presented the way yours is being presented. This is why I would ask you to consider the comments already made.

Question: What does "Amiga Dital Envrioment" means?
Sorry for the sarcasm, but really, if you want to be taken seriously you need to double check your spelling and not write in a rush.
Also, I suggest you remove the image of OS4 because it has no basis; and many of the items in your roadmap are wrong. It would be the case to add a disclaimer to make people understand that the roadmap you write is not an official one. I found at least 5 items in the wrong chronological order.

Please tell me what wrong! :(
I like getting comments from people on my web site, but it would be appreciated if you could tell me where the spelling are wrong and where any incorrect information is on my site. I would like you lot to try and understand that a web site based on the future of the Amiga can never be 100% correct. The information on my web site is based on what Amiga Inc have said and other web sites, if they change there plans at a later date or never realise the product (mcc ring a bell?) then of course that information will be wrong!
I am currently doing my best to improve my site and any USEFULL comments on what wrong would be helpful.
my e-mail address is ngamiga@yahoo.com

The people who have commented here do understand that, but they also know the general web surfer can't be trusted to think
for themselves. However, it seems you have two choices:
1) Don't put a disclaimer on the site. This will lead to people either saying "oh, we can't trust that, since Amiga have told
us not to believe anything that is not on their pages" or they will flame you for any mistakes.
2) Put a disclaimer on the site, (in fact, what you just said in the comment I'm replying to would make a good basis),
people will then see when they read the information that although the information might not be 100%, that it is as accurate
as possible as it takes information from previous releases from AInc.

In reply to Comment 11 (Vincent Perkins (AmigaNG)):
Erm, excuse me, what do you mean by "USEFULL" comments?
Do you want me to check your page for spelling errors, or tell you
"this thing is too far-fetched, please remove it"?
OK, let`s take just one page - your "OS4.0 pictures". You say:
"This page will be looking at all the early designs for the new OS".
Sorry, what are those "all the early designs"? Not being a native
English speaker, i would assume that "early design" has to come from
the hands of ppl who actually DESIGN the OS. Better write something
like "i can`t wait for actual OS4.0 screenshots, and since i have a
vivid imagination, i decided to paint something myself - here it is,
don`t take it too seriously". BTW "screenshots", not "seceen shots",
if you want me to be your spell-checker. :)
As for "site based on the future of the Amiga can never be 100%
correct" - you may well have a point here, but why try making
something up? Look at what N. James Bridge did (TRULY WONDERFUL
job indeed, kudos!)
http://www.xmas.demon.co.uk/AmigaDirections.html
This is a digest of what Fleecy and Alan have said on AmigaOne-ML.
A whole damn lot of info (i don`t see why on Earth do you claim
that your site is unique), and mostly it is as correct as it
can be - straight from the horse`s mouth, so to say. Everything -
timeline, answers to tricky questions and so on. Not that compact,
but far better than reading the whole ML-archive, isn`t it? :)
As for your spelling - this is a matter of attitude towards your
audience, period. And again, even if i say something unpleasant -
this is because i CARE, and because the basic idea was great (as
i said, polls are pretty well-thought and very interesting).
Judging by the way you write, you are young (forgive me if i am
wrong) - please try to listen, don`t fight back ("The simple answer
to you is if you don’t like the site then don’t use it!"). OK?
No offence.
Regards,
Andrew.
