Eyetech Group Ltd wrote: We urge anyone considering buying the complete Z4 system (as has been advertised in the newsgroup comp.sys.amiga.marketplace - as quoted in the "Read More" link) from "Xanthar" (xanthar@bonbon.net) to think again. Click "Read More" for more information.
It was purchased fraudulantly using a stolen credit card number on 30th March 2001 from ourselves, Eyetech Group Ltd in the UK. The international police have been notified and are looking into the situation at the moment. We would like to remind anyone who purchases the system that they will be in possession of stolen goods, although if you do actually consider parting with any money you would be unlikely to receive anything from him anyway.

Here is our final email with Xanthar (otherwise known as Mr Domagoj Stirinic from Croatia):

He will be glad for surprise when he comes home from his holiday...

We have also sent emails posing as a customer for 'his' system to verify the goods he is selling match the ones which we sent to him and have not been paid for.

If you have any more information which may help ourselves and the police in our enquiries, please email us using the addresses found at our website, at http://www.eyetech.co.uk

Warning to All Amiga Users from Eyetech : Comment 1 of 9ANN.lu

Just a suggestion, but in future just refuse to ship goods to an address which does not match the billing address of the credit card used (unless it is an established customer). I bought a laptop from an American company (Ubid) and asked for it to be delivered to my work address. Before they would mail it I had to make 3 phone calls and fax them photocopies of my green card and drivers license. Anoying? Yes. Refreshing to see that a company takes credit card fraud seriously? YES!!!
