Tell me where I went wrong someone....
*I dont have a credit card.
*I used to program a bit a few years back.
*I looked on the Amiga Web site for the only Amiga approved retailer in my country "X" (part of Western Europe)
*I sent several emails to that retailer explaining that I dont have a credit card and that I would like to buy AmigaPartypack b4 the offer runs out....
4 days now...still no reply....
Forget it Gary, nothing changes.... same old same old... Worst thing is theres even a Amiga show soon in this country and I cant attend due to work, do these retailers care? do they ****....

Would have been helpful to know in which country you live. Eyetech is selling the PP also, try contacting Amiga directly to see if they can arrange for some other method of payment (like bank wiring for example)

I didn't include the country becaue they're the only official dealer here and, it would be unfair to flame them (benefit of the doubt and all that)
I did ask for a bank transfer in my initial email. Yesterday, 5 days after my email, I recieved a reply!...

Party Pack
Well. Hmm. What do we have? Little more than can be downloaded from the CVS repository and built.
Is it worth the money? Yes, if you work out the download costs in Europe, the annoying failures for the AmigaDev site during download and others.
If you already have DE, dont bother although the updates are nice ( just sign the NDA and get them free ).
But, Spuddy. Well Im sorry this just sold the whole DE for me. It even got my computer disinterested partner interested.
Dealer delivery. Eyetech shipped out my two copies ( yes, two machines pay for what I use folks ) and they arrived the MORNING AFTER I ORDERED. Fantastic, even an handwritten note explaining the absence of any money off vouchers.
Current irritations with DE:
No one has ported a decent graphical browser yet. So Ive just ported Gecko to use AVE, it doesnt work yet and they are all my bugs to fix, give me a break Ive only been working on it a day.
Is it something to look forward to on the Amiga Classic OS?
Yes. For the JVM capabilities alone.
Yes. For the Virtual Processor technology as absolutely excellent and Taos class libraries make you wonder why a "Goliath" like Sun isnt looking nervous about the non JVM portion of Taos "David"
So, should you buy?
Yes. Yes. Yes. And Im one of those annoyed with Amiga for its mistakes over the last 18 months in respect to delivery, treatment of the classic direction.
Should you buy the DE anyway?
