Genetic Species released for Free : Comment 1 of 12 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Mikey C on 27-Jun-2001 22:00 GMT | Don't forget look through the Aminet for a couple of Patches that will enhance the game.
- I think there is a graphics speed up patch for starters.
Anyhow Genetic Species is a great game. It may not be technically impressive, compared
to Doom or even Quake,
but it has it's own good bits. The Spiders give me the creeps (shudder). |

very advanced - it's just crap. |

Posted by Mikey C on 27-Jun-2001 22:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 2 (Anonymous): Now, that's very harsh.
I have played both Doom and Genetic Species.
Each have their own, pluses and minuses, for me Genetic Species edges
it in terms of Atmosphere. The gameplay may be a bit simplistic, but
Play Genetic Species on your own, lights turned off and sound high,
big smelly pants factor.
Of course on that, Nothing has ever come as close as AB TKG. - Now that was
scary! Shame it was so badly coded. :(
Don't knock GS, it isn't a bad game.

Genetic Species released for Free : Comment 5 of 12 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Kay Are Ulvestad on 27-Jun-2001 22:00 GMT | Yup, I bought GS way back (not long after it was released, I think), and I never regretted it. It is one of the best games released for the Amiga in modern times, and I recommend it to anyone. Very atmospheric, pretty graphics, and really adrenalin-pumping at times...
In fact, I reviewed it on my homepage back then...anyone interested can go to www.stud.ntnu.no/~kayare to read it.

Posted by Mikey C on 27-Jun-2001 22:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 5 (Kay Are Ulvestad): Erm, Kay, Do you know that the reviews index page doesn't display on Netscape?
- I found the Genetic Species page (good it is too) by looking through the source.

Genetic Species released for Free : Comment 7 of 12 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Michael Taylor on 27-Jun-2001 22:00 GMT | I bought GS also & believe it's a VERY good game as well. I was surprised to see it on Aminet before it was stated here as being released. In my opinion it's a LOT better than Doom & a bit like Quake. People are still playing Doom/Quake?? The graphics of GS aren't too bad even though they're in 8 bit. It's a bit more advanced than Nemac 4! I DO suggest checking it out. |

Posted by beebee bohboh on 05-Jul-2001 22:00 GMT | GS soundtracks are (or at least were) available as mp3 files
in the composer's site (Melomaniac AFAIR).
maybe you could record them back to a CD so the game could use them..
i don't know if Aminet version of GS has support for CD tracks though. |
