Alex Klauke wrote: AmigaInc. is going to announce its own distribution channel called Amiga Content Distribution Network. Soon AmigaInc. will start selling content through their AmigaDE Shop. Also they will deliver the 'AmigaDE Player' for running the same content as on PDAs (like Sharp's Zaurus) on Windows and Linux systems.

Strangely I found a few negative comments on this move.
I think ordinary people, not accustomed to web-shopping would find the AmigaDE shop fairly easy to use. I couldn't help noticing how the information in the screenshots is organized like the on-screen menus of many digital satellite receivers.
Surely it could use some better artwork, but it's a start.

What? what who cares about running DE(read devices) apps in a desktop?!

In reply to Comment 5 (José):
And who says AmigaDE is limited to "devices".
Just because you can't replace windows with it, doesn't mean you can't do any desktop stuff with it.
Developers have just been focusing on PDA stuff because that was the only place you could use it(Sharp Zaurus), that will change now as it is also available on Winblows/linux.
It will be exiting to see what the player (v1.0) is actually up to, does it include any Amiga stuff like Ami2D/3D and what about sound?

It's strange. There'll always be complainers regardless of whether Amiga do nothing or anything. Why not wait to see the the workings of anything before commenting on it?

Another point I wonder if anyone can answer....will Amiga look after the piracy of apps end or is that up to the developer? I hear all that Java is a secure language...does that mean it can't be hacked or that you can use credit cards with it or what?

In reply to Comment 6 (Troels Ersking):
Troels, because that's where the developers of AmigaDE want to take it (TAO), they've no interest in the desktop whatsoever, and have designed their system as such.
